I to have no dog in this fight and I agreed with most of you about it not being right....right up until I read this post that is!! . After seeing guys running this format with this attitude its no darn wonder someone called for a measurement!! Quite honestly after reading this I have to commend the guy for having the balls to do it if he felt the dog was over because its pretty obvious at least a few have no problem bringing an oversized dog. Nothing like being blatant about cheating on an open forum. Wow I gotta admit my jaw dropped and I don't think I'm interested in even trying LP after seeing this.
I'm not trying to be mouthy or anything I'm just honest ya I run borderline dogs but until somebody steps up and measures them I'm gonna keep running them, if it was such a big deal arha wouldn't let a dog be measured out three times before it was banned. I will keep trying to grand this ky full 15 that I'm cheating with.
For all you boys that walk the ----------------line. Here's your sign your 2010 chevy has a 5 yr OR 100,000 mile power train warranty. The tranny pukes at 100,005 miles it comes to my shop. Do you want me to look the other way and write it up under warrenty or are you prepared to spend 3000 dollars? The point I am making is ol spot can gut a pack of dogs good days and bad days. Are ya gonna sell him cuz he is a quarter inch over? I doubt it I would not and most being 99.5 of us would take our chances right? Now I do fill it's pretty common as a man to call a measurement the last cast of the world hunt.oddly enuff the fella found Karma is truly a bitchz as he placed third, behind the so called big dog. Who really got the last laugh?

I'll put money down saying size doesn't matter in a hour long cast bc I'll bet marples Irene bitch with man handle alot of big dogs! Then what's your alls excuse?
they are compensating for something. run what you got and if that aint good enough get something else. i would have loved to go out knowing 3rd was the worst i could get at the world. disappointed yes but to be so close and not make it. i aint scared to run with anything i like to see what good dogs look like and if i got one that can hang with them i dont want to settle for 3rd but if i cant beat you congrats.

I was at the World.The size of dogs has gone down.ARHA new system is working.There is still a few hard heads that insist on running big dogs.They try to shame people into not calling them out..But as they saw it is not working.It is on the B.I.to stop giving cards to over-sized dogs..Remember B.I.every hunt that a dog that you gave a card..Has your name and the size you measured on hunt form.Right or Wrong..For Life.
I wouldn't measure a friends over-sized dog and I wouldn't ask him to measure mine for card..
I have measured dogs out.Next hunt shows up with card..I have sold dog for 1/3 what he was worth because he was over-sized..Go to hunt here he is...So when I go to stake what ever round with my 14 3/4 dog and there is a 2''taller dog..Call me what you will ..You will be measured..
your right sunrise, play by the rules or go through the proper chanels to change them. in the mean time no pissin and moning.it`s suposed to be a good time.

Jim Preston is a great guy to be around . ARHA has been setup to be fun in the field without arguing over what a dog gets scored. The stick needs to be taken from the handlers hand and let this not cause problems between beaglers. Put the measurement card to where it cant be contested, but a State Rep or Eboard member has to issue it.

Now for my opinion on the measuring of hounds. Dogs all over the country that were oversized being ran for years. I mean big dogs, not just by outlaws I mean by Everyone . Judges M.O.H. Breed Inspectors, and even Eboard members. All at once the crackdown came with the rules changes in 2012. It is unfair to just blackball all these dogs that have been competing for the last several years, so maybe the better route would have been to grandfather all Champions and Grand Champions at that time, then anything after that point is held to a strict standard.

Why not just follow breed standard 
i dont want to settle for 3rd but if i cant beat you congrats.
