Hair?

Post by outlaw »

Guys I have a young hound that has a couple of spots on him that actually look like his hair has been cut with clippers? He has no fleas and looks and acts great. Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions or thoughts. Thanks

It might be a fungus. One of my males get it when I put him up wet he gets in the straw it cause his hair to fall out in a few places and then it scabs over. I have to put a shampoo on him and dry him off. You can get the shampoo at walmart or the vet He is the only dog that gets it and I change the straw often.
Hope this helps,

Hey thanks for the response and i did wash him yesterday but he doesnt have bald spots it just looks like you cut his hair on a #1 or 2 with clippers in a few spots there is still hair there and growing back. I have never seen anything like it hopefully the medicated bath works and its just some type of fungus. Thanks for the reply

Is he kenneled with another dog? Had one chewing on his kennel partner's hair before, looked just like what you described.

its his kennel mate doing it. I JUST had a male pup penned with a female for a whooping 3 hours and when I got home it looked like a 5 yr old tried to give him a haircut down his back between his shoulder blades. :angryfire: Ohh well i guess its only hair and will grow back.
