S.R. Patch. That was the first time he was measured at that hunt.

In AKC SPO, ALL hounds that make winners pack, get measured before they collar them up for winners pack.

In AKC LPH, ALL hounds get measured before they are even painted.

Either way, the hound that wins it, has been measured that day.
Seems like a good system to me.

JMO, but either one seems to be a solution for ARHA.

In my experience as a police officer I quickly learned that individuals who always obey the law have no problem when the laws are enforced. People who constantly break the law have real issues with laws and their enforcement."

Couldn't agree with you more!

its the handlers right to have hounds measured period. you don't like it take it up with the rules committee not the handler. by the way the world champion should never be over 15" so I applaud the handler. good for you!

Ok, sorry.
I thought I had read where there was a pre-measure or card had been issued to the hound.

I agree with Swampman, I think AKC has the upper hand on getting past all this measuring dispute at the hunts. jmho

If you only measure the hounds in the finials and one measures out you had a dog that should have not been there eliminate other dogs. By painting the number on the dog you identify that the dog has been measured. In little pack the only way to be sure a dog has been measure is by having it measure at the stake, regardless of having a card or not. The dog you take to get measured at pre enter may not be the dog that gets ran.

Wrong....if a hound has an official measurement card in AKC then the only time that hound is ever measured again is by order of an AKC representative and they do the measuring.

Let's blame Lynn Perkins, he was the breeder-Awful Bawling Let Er Rip-----------/ Mapel Valley Remember Retta. Need we say more. I do see both sides of the coin but I gotta ride with Matt. If my dog beats your azz all hunt every cast which i hear it did. Now it's the last round I think it's poor taste to call it out now, mho. Go back and ck lp world hunt winners there are at least 6 dogs I know of that were over. In my eyes if Matt marple shows at that stake with a big dog then if I beat that dog so be it and vise versa. Everyone says it black and white , not really it's black and blue. Who wants to look like a dicke head by doing it? One thing about ky run what ya brung.

Yes, I know, but it takes three official measurements before they are "official"
If you measure over once, it's not worth the risk to have any more official measurements, because if you measure over officially, that hound is done for life.
And that is the official take on that!

I didn't add that because I didn't want to muddy the waters so to speak.

So are you guys still trying to say he is over? Mike Klaiber has been the Chairman of the watchdog committee for as long as I have been involved in little pack. He measured the dog infront of anyone who wanted to see it. After he measured the dog the judge picked up the stand and held it up for anyone who wanted to see it! So you say several people wanted to see him measured. Then maybe they should of stuck around and watched. You say they didnt have the balls to measure him sounds to me they tried to beat him in the field and after they got beat they went back whined about it. So now he has proved he is in guess you boys better dog up!

Wasn't there, don't even know what hound was measured or requested by whom.
I merely was stating what AKC does and that it works very well.

The hound that was asked to be measured, did he win?
