Wow. One of the most impossible threads to follow and/or determine what actually happened. So without even being there, let me see if I pieced this together correctly from "context clues" like I'm in school.

1. The dog has an NKC official measurment card (which apparently isn't worth the paper it's printed on).
2. Being as the dog has the card, it didn't get measured pre-hunt, because that's the point of getting the card.
3. Dog Makes finals
4. Another handler asks for this dog to be measured just prior to the finals cast
5. Dog measures under 15 inches and is allowed to run

Now the handler that asked for the measureing, is being called out for not wanting to run against said dog because he was hoping to get the dog disqualified? Did I get all that?

Oh I get it. Then what is the big deal. He has the right to ask for it according to the rules, correct?

Lets throw out all the rules then run some fox hounds in there to you know if your dog is to big and if its to big its to big thats why some get that measurement card so they can try and get thier biger dogs threw . I dont ask for on to be measured but rule are rules

Matt's initial post made it sound like the dog was disqualified due to size but the dog measured in. The question is, Is it unsportsmanlike to request a measurement in the finals?

I have never measured a dog. What is the purpose of the cards other than additional revenue? Funny!

I think it was a classy move on Terry's part after his dog was measured not requesting all the dogs be measured. He was there to run against what was in the cast. Just a thought on the measurement rule with the card system or some food for thought would be why not amended the rule to where a dog if measured must be done in the first round. That would take care of lost expenses on motels and other dogs that may have made it through. From then on run what you draw and may the best win.

Matt I feel your pain let it out but be careful if you aim your passion the wrong way you wont have to worry no more because you will be out of there. LOL You know how it is these problems could and should be fix BUT. I will leave it Right there. But for the word chicken crap people will what can i say. I have try and called these people in the organization more times then i can count and then they stand up and say I am not barred for life but no one will answer the phone and talk to me and again the word chicken crap your words not mine but i am sure this well get back too certain people. This same problem happened to me the year bad news won the world my wifes dog was challenged and measued out 14 months old. But ha some people will take a win anyway they can get it and YOU know that. So just let it go or ask for your 8 dollars back for your OFFICIAL MEASUREMENT CARD LMAO> OFFICIAL now theres a word that equals the word IF> LMOA again. Thanks to all that stood up at the world and ask if not barred for life when r u going to let him back in. Oh thats right no one did that. And your word again surfaces. And this is not aimed toward everyone they know who they r the same ones that keep pushing me to drop to my knees and beg to get back in. This well never happen. Thanks to a few that did try i wont give no names because they have already had their asses chewed on and it was not by Del or Joyce. So you fill in the blanks. Good luck Matt for 8.00 i will send you a forever friend card at least until i dont want to be friend anymore LOL

I had a nice young male got over 15 so I got rid of him. Rules rules I bet that Grand champ was over way before he got that far. I think its dishonest to try and get a dog through knowing its over the reason I got rid of mine let your conchunse be your guide. This oficial measure may should not be done on a young dog or measure all. my opionion

Can you tell the difference between a dog that is 14 7/8 and 15 1/8 at the stake? If you win with a dog that is 15 1/8 then you cheated. Nobody wants to cheat do they. You cant limit the measuring to the first round because only a few handlers will see the hound each round and obviously some dont care about the size rule. I too have never measured a hound and will not but wouldn't blame somebody if they did.

can a different person measuer a dog and get the same mesuerment everytime THAT is the real question. And if you register my dog and take my money why cant i play in your reindeer games. Its sortof like rudolph. You r a reindeer but you cant play in reindeer games. Measurer me out and give me back my money. Problem solved. Lets move on. NEXT

The problem is now that with all the hormones in chicken and subsequently dog food, dogs are growing bigger. People are taller now than they were 65 years ago too, should they be excluded from some sports b/c they have a height advantage? A bigger dog should never have an advantage in a rabbit trial b/c of where rabbits hide...in the brush. The rule is old and outdated. Plenty of fine akc/ukc full blooded hounds out there over 15 inches.
