Jimmy when you were winning every week it was the good ole days, now it's not the good dogs but the lead strap that wins. Maybe you should just invest in a really good lead strap. I recommend leather with some cool engravings!

Might want to ask Mike Conti who made his lead strap, I heard it was bad a$$, heard that rocket dog was pretty good too!

Having a better dog might help too.....just sayin

Yea it was the good old day, I made my mark in the trial world with a wore out lead strap. And some wore out chaps driving a wore out truck hauling a wore out box. So Dave when you accomplish something other being a smartazz about dogs repost we would love to hear how many ya finished, our how many ya put into the HOf. Btw congrats to all that won or placed.

I spectated 2 casts and ran Demon and got exactly what I deserved! The other 2 casts the judges done a great job. I also judged 8 rds and feel as we got the right dog 2each time. Lots and lots of rabbits with big big IN running! Great job ECBC and everyone else it took to make this hunt happen.....

So Dave back to my original post-Judge the dogs not the lead strap Dave from all the calls I received this weekend it went smooth as silk. Hats off too all win,place or show.also thanks for ur military service Dave. May ur runs be long and ur dogs be 15"

I may not have all my facts straight so feel free to correct me if I make an error .Havent at least two dogs that you raised made it to the hall of fame.Isnt there dogs out of those dogs who also made it to the all of fame ? Havent you finished two AKC field champions ?Didnt you win the World once and the Little World a couple of times ? haven't you placed in state and big five hunts multiple times.Didnt you even grand one dog two different times because of a paperwork error.and even though you are working a bunch right now aren't dogs that you bred still doing well at the big hunts including this years world .Sounds to me like that old lead strap and the dogs you have are working out pretty darn well to me.

I wonder if any of that fine list of accomplishments were based on the lead strap? I thought ARHA rules made it sort of tough to judge lead strap.

I'm just having some fun at Jimmy's expense maybe it's not that funny, I just hate to hear someone who's had that much success in trials to all of a sudden question it's validity. If the guys "on top" are not happy hard to imagine anyone being.

P.S Jimmy, every time I seen you at trial you had big newer truck, pretty nice box, and some fancy cowboy boots...never seen you looking like a vagabond. Next time I'm checking out the lead strap.

You felt the need to advise Jimmy to get a better lead and better dogs.I felt the need to tell him to keep what he has.Whats the difference other than yours was a put down and mine was a compliment? I find it funny that my post seems to have bothered you when I never said a word to you and was speaking to Jimmy about the accomplishments of his hounds . Why is that Dave ? As far as whether his hounds accomplishments were earned or not . I wasn't around for many of them but I would think that they were.I have never heard of anyone giving him anything .Jimmy doesn't run with a crowd and isn't the political type.Another good indicator is that the hounds that he sells tend to continue to do well in trials long after he isn't holding the lead strap any more.However if you have some reason to think those accomplishments were not earned then say so


As far as little pack rules and cheating goes , I quit worrying about that a long time ago .I am not a very serious competitor. Trials are more of a social thing for me.I enjoy getting out and seeing people from time to time .I also like getting to see other hounds on the ground.
Actually I think that the fun was more at your expense than Jimmy's .You telling Jimmy Abshire to dog up is about like me advising him how to fix a vehicle .Both things are pretty hilarious .

Not trying to put your friend Jimmy down. He is big boy and able to speak very clearly for himself. Not insinuating that he cheated, just trying to determine when/if things got political or if the best dogs are still winning. Your post didn't bother me at all, actually the most amusing public flattery I've seen in a long time.

I'm certain Jimmy has some adequate dog power, if he had something extra special Im betting it would have been competing.

Maybe shouldn't ruffle feathers but I'm sitting in hospital with leg injury and seen a window of opportunity...

Congratulations to all the placed and won. Had a great time and saw some powerful dogs. Watched Eagle go in an early round and he dominated. Very impressive. Got to watch Rocket and Rebel up close and personal in the finals of the grands and they were awsome. I would feed them both. ECBC again did a super job and made it fun for all of us. Really great judging and hard to believe that they ran 575 dogs through in 3 days. Thanks for doing such a great job. Oh, by the way, does Charles Offerman sleep or does he just camp out there?

Your right Jimmy is a big boy and can speak for himself .However if someone takes a shot at someone I think something of chances are I am gonna say something .The statements I made werent flattery at all ,just simply the truth. I don't know what Jimmy has or doesn't have right now as far as dogs but I know never to count him out. Sorry your hurt right now.Never fun to be at the hospital.

Goose made it through the 1st round he has to run against last years wold hunt winner Ruby. Wont that cast. Lucy won her 1st cast.Had really tuff dogs in every cast! Moon tied for 1st gave the decision to th other dogs cause moon had a split rabbit. Caught her off of it brought her back to a dead track.
