Im 24 now and got into hunting only at the age of 17. This is very unfortunate. I hunting solely deer for 6 years until I moved and began working with someone who hunts rabbits. I really wish I was more involved in the sport of hunting at a younger age and hope that the opportunities for me to hunt not only deer and rabbits but other game as well arise. There is something about being in the woods either before or at the crack of dawn that is amazing. You get to see "earth" come alive. From silence and absolutely no movement to the awakening of squirrels, rabbits, etc. It is absolutely amazing. There is nothing like it in the world. And above all the friendships made through the great outdoors are some of the best friendships that one can ask for.

I'm 21 and.just getting into beagles, people these days blame my generation for.the damnation.of the world yet don't point any blame to.the generation that raised us. I in my 21 years have graduated college owened two houses and farmed 1000 and raise anywhere from 100 to 500 head of cattle year. And who do all of my success too my father and mother who raised me right and put a good head on my shoulders. I get on this bored every night to read and learn on the sport I've grown to love. But any more all I read is competing if who's.dogs are better what not. So if you want a good example of yourself in the younger generation set one
In GOD we trust, everybody else pays cash

As far as competition hunting, I can be gone long. I'm 33 with two small kids, I hunt when I get a chance. Just take a kid hunting when you can.

Look i am the first to say that the world we live in is different and i never aimed anything at all youth but the majority r not into the outdoors no more. why is this so hard to see. When is the last time u have seen a pick up tackle football game in a vacant field. Or a bunch of kids playing baseball just to play. Or u have come a cross a young man squirrel hunting by himself. This was my life when i was young. We didnt have youth season we mixed it up with the old guys and relished the challenge even though we got beat. No big thing we just kept trying win lose or draw we never gave up. I am not saying all youth but the majority r not like they use to be just like we were not as rugged as our fathers. I think in order to save what we love we have to show our youth why we love it and then maybe they will want to love it too. Thats all i am saying so relax i am not trying to make waves. i just say what i think that way u dont have to guess lol
