Funky stuff on Dog's head..

Post by Grasshopper »

I have a 3 year old gyp that has in the last 2 weeks developed nasty looking bumpy, scaly, scabs on her head. I thought at first it was scars from briars or something, but now it seems to be getting worse. My hunting buddy says it reminds him of dew poisoning that some horses get.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

Might be a Staphylococcus infection. If it is that ugly, you might wish to have it examined by your veterinarian.

sounds like ringworm; keep your dog quarantined from other dogs - I would put monistat or lamisil on it - It takes about 8 weeks to cure - It is highly contagious both to dogs and humans.
