TICKED OFF

Post by weekendbeagler »

........................After the election I was depressed, angry, confused, and wondering if america as we know it is over. I quit watching Fox news, cnn, msnbc, talk radio and decided to be like most people ( Low Information Voter's) and not worry about what goes on in D.C............Well it all changed last weekend. Was talking to my neighbor and it opened my eyes. She told me she has an obama phone, gets more free food stamps than she can use, gets a check every month from 2 of her baby daddy's, plus her heating bill is paid, and she qualifies for free health care. She said all her freinds say she's got it made, no worry's everthing's taken care of. ........Then she got tears in her eyes and said I hate my life, I'm so tired of being stuck where I'm at, there has to be something better, my kids never see there dad's cause there in the same boat I'm in....................Hearing her story TICKED ME OFF. I'll bet a lot of people getting Obama's free stuff are not happy. Not sure what the answer is but I'm going to start in my neighborhood and try and help her see the light................Any suggestions ?????

The only advice I would give is to get her involved in the things you do. It sometimes takes people seeing what they could have and where they could be in life to spark the ambition it takes to get there. It will be a long road especially being in the situation she is in so there will be doubt along the way and many times where she will even feel overwhelmed. I am glad to hear that she feels bad about her situation........it means she still has a conscience. Having an advocate such as yourself may be all she needs to start heading in the right direction. Also, helping her get a good job would be an idea. The only thing I can say about that though is be careful how far you stick your neck out until she has proven to you that she is serious about wanting to better herself. I've been too quick to help others in the past only to have it come back to bite me in the end. It may sound dumb but for someone like her a lot of times all it takes is some direction, encouragement and a little praise to keep them going. Think of it like a weight loss program, show someone how and then encourage them along the way to keep them going and eventually they will begin to see the rewards from their hard work.

To start with take her to the Vet and have her spayed, that will cure part of her problem.
