Wiercreek beagles

Post by gfedor »

Had the pleasure to meet up with a fellow beagler today and hunt together for half day. Dogs did good ,got 3 rabbits. I was very impressed with his 2 young red males. They were wiercreek bred, small 12-13 inch dogs, alot of grit. They were a little slower than my dogs, but they really worked the briars good. Kept on grubing out the thick stuff, and jumping most of the rabbits.

Going forward, I would love to find a wiercreek stud but with some more speed to add to my kennel. Either a stud or pickup a young started female.

Go breed to Glomski's Thunder Run Jdell. He is out of Crusin's Jim Dandy. Jdell is a jump dog and supreme check dog. Hunted over Jdell this past Sunday. He retrieved a down rabbit for me!!! Rabbit dog!!!

Love my wier creek blood! It's not 100% pure but pretty close bred for such an old blood line!
I have a male that might fit the bill! He's got gears and hunt! But I guess it depends on your definition of speed! His speed is right on par with progressive pack! Don't know where you're located but I'm in northern KY.
I made one cross with him and a 3/4 wier creek 1/4 tadpole female belonging to my dad. We have kept 3 between us,and all turned out to be nice hounds. A friend of mine has a fourth and is very happy with her! Lost touch with the other two.

I have a lot of weircreek blood, standing between 14-15". Glomskis thunder Run jdell dogs. And andys Cassidy rambo and weircreek dogs. Plus dogs from crossing the lines. Couldn't be happier with how these dogs perform. Glad to see someone else enjoying the line.

My old male (Tucker) is linebred Weir Creek through the DFJ Hounds. DFJ Suzie White and her littermate FC DFJ Murphy White were directly out of Weir Creek Buzz. This cross was actually a linebreeding of some great old hounds. FC Weir Creek Buzz was born is 1964, so even the "line bred" hounds have a great deal of out crossing from the original strain.
