It seems like by far the majority of AKC SPO dogs are soloed before they go to the trials. I wonder if this means that they will be less and less useful to breed to down the road for those of us that strictly pack our dogs?
How useful are the swinging, cutting, slashing, race to the front, no check area, line squirting, line slipping, dog tracking, me tooers that never know how to do it themselves cause they never get to learn by themselves gonna be down the road??? Oh wait they are already USELESS!!! I love to watch a bunch of dogs that never got solo time run a rabbit cause when they come to a check it looks like a grenade went off and its actually amusing!!
I guess to each his own, jmho but it aint worth much cause i aint done much so ???????
Just to drive this post a little further in the ground I'll say a hound that can't solo a rabbit is as useless as one that can't handle a pack! With that said how do you know hamburger is great if you've only had it in chili? Or say your calm cool and collective with out ever being tested? You say packing one will make him or break him, so when you blow one up do you just pass him on to the next sucker? Or let your pack drag him around? He sais soloing will clean one up and fix little mistakes, arent you just covering up flaws in the breeding? Or are you just kennel blind? I don't know much I'm just a rookie but seems to me both are practical training tools! The Amazing Cure Uhhhh NO!

Ok maybe Jim you could teach us all something or since there is so many BAOTB dogs out there maybe since you have done so well in Little Pack you could tell me what type of dogs you run that dont require solo or is it just the little pack format that doesnt require solo?? I would greatly appreciate all the info thanks!!
Johns I run a little of lp an mid west I've judged some of them Logan elm dogs that only get packed an I can tell you this they will run anything your packen in the ground. How many fc's have you made my friend..BAOTB..

Not at all bashing little pack as i have ran and still like to run in little pack i was simply asking Jim to give some insight here as like i said before LiL bred, i gave my opinion which isnt much SINCE I HAVENT DONE MUCH, maybe you should learn to read!! I hear if you read SOLO your dog can do alot better in a pack!!!
Hey John don't pm me runnin another mans dog down. No I'm not breeding to his dog. And another thing you don't know how I run and train. It's obviously working for me. I tell you this much records live and myths fade away. Logan elm has won the world hunt 5 or 6 times. Do I agree with everything he says? No! But he has a lot of good points for a sarcastic buckeye.
Maybe if you put your hands over your mouth, instead of on the keyboard and open your ears you might learn something.

This board is getting crazy!! You cant say anything without someone twisting it into something that it wasnt meant by!! Also i simply asked Jim a question i didnt ask for a gang squad to come to his rescue he is a grown man amd can speak for himself!! I know he has done well in little pack thats why i asked a simple question so i could learn but then all the gang squad came by doing a drive by on me!!
