No offense Chuck, but not all hook, swing and skirt.
They are tight mouthed and hunt their arses off, harder than all get out to see in the snow though.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year!

Been trying to get some good video, but I just can't seem to get in the right spot at the right time, all I get is a bunch of music with no action shots of the rabbits or hounds.
We got 16" of heavy snow last Thursday and another 3" to 4" last night. Small pines and cedars are bent right over to the ground and large branches snapped completely off.
Went out today and the cottontails are running straight to their holes.
I need to get up to the cabin and run some snowshoes! :D

The reply above by intrepid is why there isn't.
They can brag all they want on Branko, Shooter, etc. but bring up Patch in a positive post and well, go figure?

I know tri colors and black white and tans that do the same thing from some lines. My lemon is mouthy and has a.... Unique? Personality. I think dogs color isn't the best gauge of what it's gonna do. Although I never seen a lemon brace dog. If anyone has a video of one it would be neat to see
God isn't real, Beer is good and people are crazy, there I fixed it.

Mo Beagler 5000, I have seen quite a few lemon Brace hounds, I don't believe they are any less plentiful in brace as they are in any other format. Many of them have Field Champion titles, as well.

Charles,
Thanks, Bonnie was less than 2 years old in that trial. I remember the judges saying in the first cast "there won't be hiding any faults in that white hound".
If I remember correctly, two of the hounds in that picture are FC's and the others have points towards FC.

I ran her in IA. a month or so earlier, (her very first trial) she didn't get picked up but she didn't make winners pack either.
One trial about a month later in SPO on hare in the U.P. of MI and again didn't get picked up, the judges told me that she was on the bubble for winners pack.

Yes, she is the video, the one that usually is in front, she is proving to be my best hound with a pretty good snow nose as well. She is still young, (2 1/2) and wound pretty tight, she needs to settle down and mature a litle more.

I'm mostly a hunter, but I plan to hit a couple trials this coming year.

In all honesty, what do you think is the best way forward with this hound to reach the best outcome,...pack only....a continued mix of solo/pack... or, soloing between trialing? And, how has the hound been dealt with so far in her up-bring to attain such results at the trials and within your pack to this point?

I afraid Jimmy is gonna start handing out the short bus tickets to all us internet beaglers if we don't start learning something,... the junior crowd is taking over...

No they didn't.
They do catch a cottontail on occasion, but have never caught a snowshoe.

They aren't always that quick either, they gear down when necessary.

Their tight check work is a detriment, (so to speak) when running snowshoes with guys that run strictly snowshoes. Hounds than run snowshoes on a regular basis reach out quicker and farther and causes my hounds to play catch up after a check.
But since I run cottontails more than snowshoes, they are doing exactly what I want.

After running snowshoes on the Island for a week straight though, mine tend to reach quicker and farther and need to settle down again when back home on cottontails.

I need to get up to the cabin and run some snowshoes again. Was planning on going up yesterday through the 1st., but the inlaws are gone vacationing, so I have to take care of the farm. :(
