I think it will be just fine. I have 2 four months old that are running and i take them out with the pack. Not all the time, maybe twice a week for about an hour or so. I have two short legged dogs they can run with.

I have a male that's 2 1/2 yr old and a fine gun dog, IMO.I put this dog in with a pretty fast pack of hounds when he was 5 1/2 mo old.He ran great from day one and has only gotten better.Cant say its good for all but this pup took off and never looked back.

sometimes there is that special hound that has that gift, but if it were mine i would solo it a lot and run him/her with hounds around its own age for a while. when you see your young dog starting to dominate that paticular age group bump up the age range a little bit. think of it this way if you were in a foot race with someone and they beat you everytime out what would be the point in racing that person everyday because you would already know the out come of the race long before you ever raced. beagles are very competive and if they loose that confidence it will be hard to restore it. i definatly would recomend runnin it with hounds its own age range until it has developed the skills it needs to be that dominate hound. not saying your dog is not fast as your saying but solo time will help that hound develop what it needs to be very competive in the field.. i mean you dont want a me to dog one that comes in out in the field barking all the time not producing like he should. running with ther own agre range will help a lot with there development, along with solo time. then when that young dog is the man in that age range then he will start to take on the big boys.

Star is a fine pup! I have been soloing her a lot. Now she is starting to pull her other to litter mates. I can't run her with them she is a little to much for them. She is out of Bad Moon Rising and a William Henry female! This little pup is the fastest I have had in my training pen. The last 2 times I ran her in my 8 acre pen she caught a rabbit. I have been soloing her in my cousin 40 acre pen.

Depending on the pup, but I put mine in when they can stay up or catch up in a check. If a pup is just chasing the pack and not trying to run the line he is labeled "suspect" rather than "prospect". I like to see them looking for the line in the check areas and not watching the other dogs. It they are dog watchers, I'm disappointed in myself for making the mating.

When something special comes along it is easy to forget how young they are.I messed up one of the best young male dogs I have ever seen at 8 mos. old.Mental toughness and physical toughness are two different things.I would suggest braceing her or run her in a three dog pack with something she can run easy with.Run her hard gun hunt her what ever you want. She'll still be just as good or better at a year old. When one gets blown up it can't be undone.I get about half sick every time I think about it.

When its ready no age based! Not bragging but I have a good pack of dogs. Some you can add to the pack at four months old some six months and some never. JMO I have said this a few times and stand behind it a beagle is a pack dog. He he needs soloing sounds to me like you need a nother beagle. JMHO

The last pack that I had and I raised them.I breed them and would wait till they were in there 2d season before I let them in with the pack. The biggest reason is I didnot need them in the pack and it just seem over the years they just done better.I look at it this way if anybody has to put a 4 to 12 mo old pup in with there old pack to help run the rabbit.Well I m not going any more with this.I ve always waited till 16 to 24 mo before I gun hunting over them. Not saying my way is the best way but it work for me.

If I had to run a pup two years before he seen a gun. I would just buy a two year old dog. Who needs a pup to run a rabbit I run mine with the old dogs to learn. The old dog is what suites me that is what I would want to use for a measuring stick in the end. If they can suite me in a season you can figure they are something special may just be sentimental. But they are special. Some talk dogs some run and train dogs. I run dogs and train dogs.
