Has anyone tried the C9 supplement? I bought some and put them in the blender to make powder ( yeah that was not cool with the wife) but I am going to try that as a small sprinkle additive to dry food. Just wondering

I am also looking for a feed that does good for the dog but produces less waste.

GOOD POST!

I experienced the same problem with sportmix. I was paying $27 for 40# bag of sportmix and feeding 8 hounds, I averaged a bag a week.

I switched to victor 24/20 no corn, soy, or glutens as fillers. $31 for 40# bag I am on my second bag now and the last bag lasted about 12 days. I figure I can get a good idea how they are gonna do after 5-6 bags.

So I'll let ya know how I like it in a month or so.

How about the waste, is it more or less and what about smell?

Less waste and still smells like $hit to me. Sorry I had to

I like it so far, but I feel like to get an honest opinion about it, I'll have to feed it for another month or so to see if they hold up on it. :D

I used to feed sportmix. I had to feed them DOUBLE what i i'm feeding now with pro plan to keep any weight on them. You couldn't pay me to feed that stuff again and the waste was awful.  if there is one feed i wont ever go back to that would be it.

Ive said it before and will say it again, during the colder days i will not feed it at all!! I cant keep any weight on during the winter at all with sportsmix, i began feeding high standard and really love it!! When i cant get it " as much as i hate diamond" i will get diamond high energy and i like how it does, but refuse to use sportsmix anymore!!

Pro Plan Performance. I think I've tried almost everything and keep going back. But like Chapko said it'll cost you.

I'm interested in the verdict on Victor as I have been tossing around the idea of trying it too. I don't run my dogs as much as most of you guys but am always looking for something better. Been feeding "the pride" 24/20 for several years and the dogs do good on it for us.

warddog,
I know each to his/her own but if the Pride was working out for me and I liked the way my dogs looked and performed I wouldn't change unless I found something just as good at a much cheaper price. Sometimes it doesn't pay to change feed to save a couple dollars a bag, at least not to me. I used to feed Black Gold until they stopped selling it in my area and have been feeding Pride 24/20 and I have good results with it also. A little more waste than the Black Gold but the dogs look good and have plenty energy on it. jmo
