snowshoe trip! 12/8/12-12/9/12

Post by Dillinger09 »

Day one was the only day we harvested hare, it wasn't because lack of game
nor dog power! This swamp was miles and miles long and thick! But didn't seems to phase the dogs they did a really nice job both days giving us non stop action and plenty of splits!
From left to right we have Bella,Dillinger,Crow,Bolt, and Poncho.

Bella was great on the line didn't miss a beat, she showed to be one tuff bitch this weekend!

Dillinger hunted like a crazy bird dog so naturally kept us in rabbits!

Crow&bolts first time seeing snow and ever running hare and they both at one point split off and where running there own! And didn't miss a beat in the pack, checked and got up front!

Poncho struggled for what ever reason? But was still in the race.

glad ya had a good hunt. that is an awesome pic of the dogs. it is hard to get a bunch of dogs to sit still for a decent pic. taking it after a hard run sure helps. nice lookin hounds. what is some of the blood behind them?

Thanks guys! bella and poncho are littermates. crow and bolt are littermates but all have the same sire.
Also have 3 pups out of that same sire "jakes Roy" who are up and coming rabbit dogs may have seen one of them I call lefty.jwagner could fill us in more on pedigrees as its his male. But all are out of Rick Snows old bloodline he used to breed.

It sure was a good time!!! anytime I get to run hounds with my dad I really enjoy myself. Rick pretty much summed up the trip. There was know shortage of running. Mostly a shortage of motivation to shot the hare. The eight month old pups probably impressed me the most. especially on there splits, were they would end up soloing hare for well over the hour mark both times. for there first trip to hare country and I snow I liked what I saw. Can't wait to get up there again!!!!!!
