jackrabbit,snowshoe hare,rabbit
I live thousands miles away from usa and i was wondering:which of these three (jackrabbit, snowshoe hare, rabbit) is the most difficult for beagles???what bloodline (conservative, rough) do you believe is the best for each one??

Re: jackrabbit,snowshoe hare,rabbit
Paul, a buddy of mine Andy P of Dirty Pond Beagles in New York. The only one I know that has hunted jackrabbits in Wyoming, European Hare in Northern Ontario, Canada and Greece, Snowshoe Hare in US and Canada, and Cottontail rabbits in US. The most difficult of the 4 is cottontails for the beagles and the most dangerous is European Hare in Northern Ontario, Canada (they run far ahead of the beagles crossing roads). I suggest you get in touch with Andy P at Dirty Pond Beagles. PS Andy runs Striker, Branko, and Ninja lines and has finished quite a few hounds.

Re: jackrabbit,snowshoe hare,rabbit
I have never ran anything but cottontail. I have been through quite a few dogs and bloodlines. The ones I kept go back to Fc Post Oak Little Nip Otis top and bottom. Good hunt, really good line control and hardly lose a rabbit. Not as fast as what most of the guys run on here but I love em. I have tried several line bred heli prop dogs, some round pond mr t dogs, and some sundown black bow and sundown triple threat. All could run a rabbit well but TO ME , not like what I have. I am sure all those lines have dogs that are better than what i have but i didnt have any. Good luck to you
