Social Security is good in theory but with the government stealing money from it I don't understand how it will ever be around to pay out to me someday.........unless they continue to up the amounts. I work for my father-in-law's small business and social security used to be a dollar for dollar match. Now for every $1.00 they get from me he has to pay in $1.50............where does it stop and when did the business owner become more responsible for my retirement than I should be for it myself? I have been with him since the beginning and the taxes that are placed on him are almost ridiculous and just continue to get worse and worse. And believe me when I tell you he is not living high on the hog. If it weren't for him busting his but at a normal job for over 25 years and being responsible with his money he would never have been able to open this business in the first place. He takes very little in hopes that someday he can retire comfortably but in the meantime employs 10 people so they can put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. I sometimes wonder why he does it because for him personally it barely seems worth the effort.

Well golden acres if the doctor prescribed it and indeed it was life threatening and I will take your word most people would go to all avenues for their kids. I would have went to a lawyer until I got the desired result. With the ACA the lawyers are not going to take on the government as quickly as they would your insurance company.

How can you take what he said and twist into such an outright lie? Now thats good info Pine lakes, the government does NOTHING as cost effective or as efficient as the private sector. The problem is once people are on the free ride wagon they become totally dependent and loose any integrity they ever may have had. Golden acres again I am glad you got the help you needed but it was not due to the ACA and it had nothing to do with pre existing conditions.

It was an insurance company trying to get out of paying. The government will be much WORSE.
