Who hunts more than rabbits

Mostly hunt cotton tails, but my soon to be father n law has got my .243 sighted in and I'm hoping to kill a few coyotes and foxes. About to buy a AR15 and use that to pick off some predators.

I was introduced to swamp rabbits last year and now even cottontails are not the same! Still love them but swampers are the best.

When I was a lot younger, I hunted everything. I havent hunt rabbits in 25 years. Since my Son has gotten a couple of beagles we are going to start hunting this year. The only thing I hunt now are Turkeys. Since I am a Taxidermist, I get my fill of Deer. The last thing I want to do is climb down from a Deer stand and cut up another one! LOL

Simple progression for me. When i was a lot younger it was kill anything that moved. Then i went to the kill just a trophy and now it's take my kids and spend time with them. I loved everything i have been able to hunt because of the experience and making memories. I have just gotten back to the hounds because years ago when rabbits where a little slimmer it just did not get it done for me. I was still in that kill everything mode and did not appreciate the dog work. Now all i want to do is listen to the race maybe shoot a couple to eat and BS with my friends. darn i am starting to sound like my dad!

At one time or another I've hunted or traped about anything that runs,flies,swims,or crawls.Started with muts that were beagle/dachound when I was a kid.Killed alot of rabbits with them,had one that would tree squirrles when she was in the woods.Got into bird dogs till there wern't anymore birds.Anymore I just rabbit hunt,kill a doe for meat sometimes.I have gotten into preaditor hunting in the past few years,anyone that hasn't tried it might want to give it a try.They are the hardest animals I've ever hunted but it's alot of fun.Just don't give up to quick there is a learning curb for sure.

I use to live for Deer hunting but that changed when i got in to beagles. but i enjoy Turkey Hunting very much, and calling Predators, and Traping. I run my beagles of the mornings and deer hunt of the eavenings if i get in in time.

i rabbit hunt more than anything. but i do enjoy opening weekend of dove season. I do enjoy opening weekend of firearm deer season. While Out rabbit hunting I do enjoy a few squirrels if I see them or a quail or two if we see them but I rabbit hunt for the most part all the time.

One thing folks that have beagles spend a part of each season hunting is beagles.

Killed squirrells as a youngster with the .22. Deer hunted when I was a teen with dogs, bow, and rifle. Rabbit and coon hunted a little. As I have gotten older my preference is rabbit hunting, but I will go coon hunting and kill a deer every now and then with the rifle or the muzzle loader. I like it when we have a doe hunt and can shoot several in a day. I have killed a few good bucks and typically hold out for Mr Big but get an itchy trigger finger for management bucks or does when that is the goal. I share deer meat with others and my Beagles.

I hunt as often as I can. My list:

Deer with a bow
Rabbits with a beagle and a .22LR.
Coyotes with a big hound and a .243
Squirrels
Turkeys
Shotgun deer
after that i may dabble in waterfowl, pheasants, and anything else with a pulse.

I even fish when given a good chance....
