I will be making my 10th trip to Northern Maine this Spring for Snowshoe hare, pretty hard to beat a week running hare in the Northwoods. It is a trip that can be made very cheaply.

I can count on spending $600.00 for the week, including the license. We split the fuel between 5 or 6 guys for 2 vehicles, buy food at the local grocery store, again split the cost and we split the cost of the camp where we stay.

Andy, if you put that up against the average vacation, that's pretty darn cheap. I would much rather be chasing hare than sitting on a beach in the Outer Banks or something!

That's what I mean, We are there 7 full days, I spent four days in Cape May and spent more than that plus drove half the distance...Our lodging is a little more than it needs to be, but we have a pretty good deal with a guy that is not using his bear lodge at that time of year. We pay a little more because he has to get the road plowed and fuel his generator. If we just stayed at a motel or something we could probably save some $ but it wouldn't be the same.

Maine, Maine and Maine. We don't go a far north as fasttrack. Ours end up costing slightly more but we get 3 meals a day cooked for us. 90 a day for lodging and food, 75 for license and then gas of course. Can't beat it for7 days of nonstop action.

Ain't that the truth ,Tim! I kill my fair share of rabbits, but spend lots of time looking for new spots.
