It was 37 at my house this morning, I got a little emotional...lol

Yeah but our deer season opens 1 week from Saturday & is open every day, in one form or another, until January 6th. A lot of deer hunters & not so many beaglers also, makes for almost ZERO tolerance if a beagle happens to stray out of the field & onto the wrong ridge. Makes it tough, I love to see fall coming but know it almost shuts off running dogs due to risk of a deer hunter killing one for "ruining his spot".

People know better then to shoot at dogs around here..We shoot back!! ;)

I joined an akc beagle club for this reason. The beagle club has its own land that members can train their dogs on. While they do close the club down for two weeks for members to deer hunt on, it is open the majority of deer season and even open during the summer quiet season that we have here in the spring and summer. If it wasnt for the beagle club i would miss out on 6 months of the year running dogs.
