I have a half brother half sister cross off of Shooter and they are not shy in any way.
Re: Wingate Bloodline
owm a shooter bitch out of striker-LJ bitch runs a good cottontail; good pup trainer;friendily handles good hunts hard; not enough foot for midwest or hare trials; loud mouth clean; except in the pen barks like a watch dog especially at feeding time; to nice a dog to get rid of and i live a half mile form the road and any neighbor; so goods outweigh the bads. had a false pregnacy on me hope goes away bred nicely naturally deer proof tattletales too.
Re: Wingate Bloodline
LOL....I guess we all have defferent qualities in our shooter pups. I guess it shows that the bitches will throw there share into a breeding. The one thing that is pretty consistant with pups out of shooter is there running style. And you hear it over and over across the board from people who have dogs off of him, Close, clean, good mouth, hunt and good nose. Some are medium speed hounds, some are faster and more hard hitting. All in all nice hunting dogs. Some turn out to be duds just like in any line. .Good running to all of you.....DH
Re: Wingate Bloodline
I am glad everyone has had good results with this line. I really do wish I could say the same. Over the last couple of years. looking back on my past dogs pedigrees, I have had 10 dogs that have gone back to Brandon in some way. Either through Kalagha or a Ranger Dan line. The Ranger Dan side was 5 dogs with 3 different breeding (different studs, different females) and that isn't counting the cross I did with a Shooter male and a Kalagha female. I seen the same traits with the Kalagha bred dogs as the ones that went back to Dan, and it just seem to magnify when I crossed the 2 lines. And the only common thread was Brandon. I bought another Ranger Dan female this year, trying it one more time, but once again the same traits that I had with the others is coming up with her. I know every dog won't make it, but you would think you could get one out of ten. Like I said before, I am glad everyone has had luck with this line, and I have seen some of the videos of the Ranger Dan line running. There are some quality dogs out there out of this line, I just can't seem to get one under my kennel roof!
Re: Wingate Bloodline
JJWI, What trait keeps popping up that you are talking about? I would like to know. Also Brandon I believe is so far back in these pedigrees, I believe he was from the 1980"s that I don't know how much he can impact a pup today unless he was heavely line breed in the dogs you are breeding.......DH P.S. There are a few on this board that have pups I sold that were Rangerdan grand pups and one is double Rangerdan top and bottom. I keep in touch with most that have pups out of those breedings and 9 out 10 of those pups were real nice dogs. No extra yap, lots of hunt good nose, 1 or 2 I sold as older pups or adult dogs because they were a little strong for my taste but nice dogs....DH

Re: Wingate Bloodline
takes 2 tango then rabbit vitamins to helpem grow-tracks. so many many great hounds have brandon and blackey in their peds so i have to say lot good has popped up. some times you can inbreed to much if there's a fault in either side could magnify it. or not very pup show it could be some good ones & culls same litter. just never know til you made the cross. kalagha has some Gay breeding Frank Reese lived not far from my grandad maybe 20 miles some could be nice dogs some could be mouthier and bow legged than anything i ever seen some shy ones as well and loved to run forkey toes. teh ones that were good could be good but the other half could boohoo all over not produce a rabbit.
