Gw--- I am HUGE fan of data and sometimes I get pretty mad and let stupid stuff bother me when someone says something that is ignorant...

For instance- when people say on here amoxicillin for dogs is different than amoxicillin for humans and giving one or the other will do harm.. Its nonsense... My vet just prescribed my dads dog 1000 tablet of penicillin just because he told my dad to take them when he is sick or just give to his dogs or whatever had an infection. yet because someones uncles mother told them otherwise they won't listen even to scientific facts.

ITS THE ATTITUDE AND SNIDE REMARKS that mostly turn people off... Throwing stuff in their like "my mensa group" and other stuff that makes one sound like a jacksack.. I know that wasn't your comment i was using an example... or making a post about why should i quit the board? thats crazy.... what would the board look like if a thousand of us did that??

Mo Beagler, I understand where you are coming from concerning the data. What I am about to say, I mean in kindness, what If one would make a statement about their skeet club, golfing club, beagle club, yacht club, Hunting club, polo club, etc; should those of us who are not members feel threatened should we feel as though we cant shoot, golf, float a boat or hunt because we are not a member. Should I feel that a member of a hunt club is saying I am not a hunter because I am not a member of his club. Should I feel that my dogs are junk because someone mentions they are a member of a Beagle club and I am not, I don't feel that way toward them and by mentioning their club I do not feel as though they feel that way toward me. I am not threatened by anyone's affiliation with any club and I don't believe they think less of me for not being a member and I am certainly not going to think less of them for being a member.

dog , in your earlier post you said no to scientific data, now you think it is O.K. Not only do I not know what you are talking about seems like you don't either. You shouldn't contradict yourself like that .Are you part of the crowd that thinks God has no place in the schools also. I bet most will disagree with your opinion that God has no place on this board. Dog, do you think If I researched your posts I would find where you made a reference to something other than talking dawgs, You know that would make you a hypocrite don't you!

GW scientific data is ok , IMO you go overboard with it , same for god in the schools , its ok there as long as they dont go overboard with it , when i want my kids preached too i'll take them to church , just like here . there is a place for preaching , its in a church ! referencing him is one thing preaching is another , sorry ! oh and by the way , i'll bet you wont find too many if any !

dog, I agree I believe you are sorry. As far as a place to talk about God you are as mistaken on that as you are on everything else. There may very well be folks on this board who do not visit other sites and If the opportunity to speak to them about God arises then it is not up to you to say that that opportunity should not be taken advantage of as it may be the only opportunity afforded them. The more I hear you speak the more I agree with you on the idea of a Dumb Beagler Board, it was your idea and I believe it was a sound one. Goodnight!

I have agreed with everything you've said on this subject I think.... except about the data and facts...

I honestly believe (speaking as a science teacher) that you can't go too far with data and facts.. It pains me to hear people say things like generic meds aren't safe, dogs are sick if their noses are warm or not wet, dogs only eat grass if they are wormy, etc--- and then its kind of ironic how people get pissed when you show facts.. I once got bashed because I tried to prove to a guy I wasn't killing my dogs by using termidor on them instead of frontline.. I guess its because I literally make money at telling kids what their parents and tv has taught them is wrong...

I hardly take stock in anything that isn't backed in facts-- Kinda weird that I have a bible degree and a science degree I guess considering facts and faith but what gets me is people bashing each other for the heck of it...or on matters of opinion.. like when someone says medium speed dogs are better than fast dogs and then they fight.. thats stupid because neither is based in fact..

sorry , its a beagle board , i believe i said IMO its ok in reference , but to get on here and preach ? nope not the place for it . again to many people with different beliefs , they get on here planning on talking dogs , not listening to a sunday sermon . i would never tell them to stop , just dont care to hear it myself and im sure some others dont either , again just my opinion . it took you longer than i thought it would to just come out and say "i'm smarter than you " but guess what i wont miss a bit of sleep tonight

still don't know if that was directed towards me or not because the post above mine but i was just explaining my position on facts and data.... not meaning to say i was smart... I just like reading science and history stuff..

For the most part i agree with you about the just talkin dogs and leaving religion out but i figure if someone brings it up and they wanna have a discussion then i might as well participate... One of the reasons i started hunting is because i get alone time to think, relax pray and let my brain wander..

Its kinda hard not to think about a higher power when someone says on here his kids sick or his mom died.. I think thats what makes this board neat... I've seen a lot of good things happen cause of it.. like charity auctions, pm's just to say hey our family is thinkin about you and hey come run sometime my home is open to ya... complete strangers that only know of each other through beagles

And THAT, has been the very essence of this board since the beginning. It was started as a means for the beaglers to stay in touch when the ARHA was sold and its board temporarily went down, and everything else sprang forth from that point. There is a large membership who have been here since the beginning, who must certainly be shaking their heads when folks try to advise on what the board should or shouldn't be.

I came over here to checkout this section and it has WAY more people viewing it than any other at one time...DRAMA, I guess I will go back to Field trialing where we joke and no one gets mad,BORING right? This is TOO MUCH FOR ME,LOL......DRAMA FREE IS FOR ME!!!!
