Jack Kaiser passed away

Post by snowhound »

The beagle world has lost a true houndsman on June 21, 2012. Jack Kaiser of Washington State, was as true a houndsman as we have ever met. He loved his hounds, and ran his dogs only because he wanted to. No trials. Just Jack and his dogs. We knew Jack for over 25 years, and he visited us numerous times. He was a straight shooter, who took no b.s. or gruff from anyone, and gave as good as he got. The death of his youngest son Jimmy a couple of years back took a lot out of him. Jack battled his cancer valiantly but in the end, his already weak heart just couldn't take the chemo and radiation. His wife Janice has stood by him through thick and through thin. Jack was a veteran, but wouldn`t talk much about his army experience. He`d rather not only talk dogs, but go see and listen to the hounds. Our last conversation was only days before his death, and we knew then that he was ready. We will miss him an awful lot. R.I.P. Jack.....

Very sorry for your loss, it's so hard in life to even end up with a hand full of friends that stick. Having a hounds man is icing on the cake. Once again Frieda and branko his family will be in our prayers take care.

Jack and I became friends in 1999 when he came to my rescue and backed me up on eSPO, back (before I owned it) when Frieda and I were probably the only women on it, and the membership at the time was brutal to Frieda and myself. We struck up a friendship, used to talk weekly, email almost daily. We had talked of making a trip to see the Krpans together. Such plans! We would meet in Fargo and drive up. Nobody loved their dogs like Jack. He was his happiest out with the dogs running along his stretch of the Yakima River.

Our chats and communications grew a little farther apart the last few years, but when we did talk, it was like no time had passed. I only spoke to him a couple of times after he became sick, and again after I was diagnosed with cancer last summer. He had every intention of beating his, I could tell it in his voice. I will miss him, I will miss his sense of humor, and the glee you could hear in his voice when he was telling a story. I loved him as a friend - as much as one can love someone they've never met. Jack was within the bullseye circle of my friends, and held a very personal, special place in my heart. RIP, my friend. You had a very rich life, and you are with your son again.
