Joe:
Don't you run some of the Hunts Creek Ben stuff? If so how do these two hounds compare as far as nose, speed, hunt etc?
Thanks

Joe, I own Hunts Creek kennel for 27 years plus.Aolt of the same traits. The hounds That I breed are not bred for a format. Most all my hounds are judge by my standard, run like your tied to it, don't cause your own check run the rabbit the faster the better, put I'll sacerfice speed for control when it comes down to it. HB CH Hunts Creek Ben 13"-13 1/2 & Andy 14" are just about the same running style, trace back to common blood back there. Most of my hounds are bred for hunt, quick clean don't make it look harder than it is type hound, Snownose is a must here. I hate a hound that will not hunt, hate quit,Hate so called big nose bark all over hound. I owned some great medfast hounds and some clean and fast hounds. Hate the race to the next break down than, give credit to the break down as a check. Only check should be where the rabbit turned or tryed to give the hounds the slip. I belive the same hound should run both Hare & Cottontail, Brains, nose, hunt desire. They should go to ground sent when they have to but should run air sent when the running is up. I like them to run close up on game but have the nose to pick it, in tuff conditions just do what they have to to progress. I try to look for the complete hound they must run solo must Hunt Jump and run thier own rabbit, and be an aset in apack. when Breeding Andy to my bitches Iam getting what I like, within my standard. Hope this answered the question lol. sorry for the run on.Its hard to sum up all the hounds We owned, but the above is what i enjoy running. Non are perfect but live here pass 2yrs old and your doing ok.

Joe:
No problem. Most times a longer answer is the more complete answer.I have known of you for a very long time.I have only heard good things. Thanks for a good description of what you look for in a hound.it sounds like you breed for a very complete hound.
Most people claim they want to " better the breed" .One person's bettering the breed may be another person's ruining the breed. I think the most someone should try and do is produce what suits them and then if someone else likes it too then that is just icing in on the cake. Thanks for your reply.

That My Friend is one of the best answers i have read on here in quite some time, i would like to see your hounds run someday.

Now that a blast out of the past. How you doing Brad?

Where where you when I was trying to give away my big male pup out of my Ranger Dan male (Boomer) and my fastest and biggest female out of Murry's Little Blazer (Heli-Prop) and Super Girl (Super dog). The pup got turned into a house dog. The rest of the litter is doing great. I was going to say it was Boomer's last litter, but Joe Wingate got the last one.
