Seems like cow tags are the best/cost effective thing to use. Going to try this out on my dogs as soon as the local farm store gets another shipment. There are several threads on this. The purple python tags are running a little over $30 for 20.

I have heard good things about Certifect this year. I have also been using the Cedar Cide Best Yet spray with good results. Both are expensive.

  They say the tags are good for up to 6 months but I change mine every 3 months so to me this is a cheap method of flea and tick control.

termidore  same ingredient as frontline. tags are made for 900lbs animals  saw a thread that said if your dog starts wobbling to take them off :mad2: i mean a shot gun blast will get rid of the fleas and ticks but that is probibly an overdose :blackeye: they are your dogs do what ever you want.

PetArmour is also made with the same ingredients as Frontline. Frontlines drug patent ran out two years ago. The generics work just as well. Nothing better or easier to me than PetArmour wich you can now buy at Walmart for half the price of what frontline cost. I buy the tube for the heaviest dog and each tube will do 2 of my big dogs I'm sure it will do atleast 3 beagles so one box will take care of 9 beagles
Take your kids huntin and you wont have to hunt for your kids.

mobeagle,
Is the pet armor safe for a pregnant or nursing bitch? I have one that has been breed for 2 weeks now and am looking for something to take care of the fleas and ticks. Thanks.

Randy I buy the biggest tube of front line for about $50 for a 6 months supply, this is for dogs up to about a 100 pounds. The 6 month supply has 6 tubes. I split the tube up into .7 ml which will treat one 20 pound beagle. Each tube will do four 20 pound beagles, The six month supply would last you with your two dogs for 2 years....Hope that helps. Ps I use a needle from tractor supply two draw out and measure .7 ml from each tube....Deerhost

Thumbs up on the pet armour !! I use it also. After one trip this spring I picked 29 yes 29 ticks off my pup. Went and bought pet armour and haven't found a tick on him since.
