I don't know about everyone else, but the hounds I mentioned are or were fast with control & gave plenty of mouth on the line. They weren't fast because they knew how to cheat by swinging, skirting, running mute or any other form of cheating to get to the front of the pack. I'd much rather have a medium speed hound that was under control & worked the check inside out than a hound that was super fast that didn't know when to slow down when conditions got tough or just kept overrunning it's nose & causing checks where there shouldn't have even been a loss of the line. The ones that are super fast with control , but will slot up when they have to & can slow down when conditions change are the hounds I like, but are few & far between. I had the reputation of being a conservative judge by many; not that I don't like fast dogs, but they better be under control & work the check close to where the point of loss is.

Somebody mentioned Larsen's Haley on here, she could run hard for sure. I judged her at Sunrise when Dennis Palmer owned her, she had the front and wasn't letting go, three of Phil Reynold's FC's placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th behind her.

FC Beaver Meadow Jordan could rock and roll. I also liked FC Talkabout Kelly.

Somebody mentioned NLPC FC Talkabout Dottie, that was a nice bitch! But what impressed me about her what her check work.

AKC Queenie was the fastest beagle I ever saw. She ran down over 65 rabbits once my sons and others started counting.
Ran with a constant high squeal that could be heard over a pack and didn't make a lose as the rabbit couldn't turn for running with all it could.
Ate part of it and brought some back to drop when you saw her to let you know she hadn't lost it. We never saw a dog that could stay with her.

Vests Lacy was fast too and she was a Grand LP Champion but not near as fast as Queenie.

i watched fc deepwoods magic willow go a few times and loved her foot and line control.. i watched her control the line and make it look easy on some hard hitting males a year or so ago... really impressed me... im not much on running females but i would of definitely fed her in my kennel!!

BUT!!! THE FASTEST FEMALE, I'VE EVER SAW; RUN THE FRONT ON ANY DOG ON ANY DAY! 13" OR 15" SHE COULD THE FRONT & DOMNIATE ANY PACK SHE WAS PUT ON THE GROUND WITH.

SHE WAS IN ONE TRIAL AT A YEAR AN A HALF OLD & *WON IT*! THE ONLY TRIAL SHE WAS EVER IN!
SHE GOT KILLED A FEW DAYS AGO! SHE WAS A 13 1/2" FEMALE.

I judged three 13" bitches two or three times that were as good as anything I've seen; they ran against each other the same year: FC Green Bay Wiley, FC GMC's Primetime Peeka-Boo & FC Alisha's Rabbit Run Molly.
Also , 15" bitches FC Ross' Rockzie Girl & FC White Oak Creek B&J's Blitz were incredible.
