He is telling the truth about this dog. I used to own Hot Rod and the speed is the only reason I let him go but I thought his speed was about 7--7 1/2 but we judge speed different. I ran him with faster dogs and they never got away from him and when they were running in the thick stuff and he got the lead they couldn't get the line from him until the rabbit broke into the open. I have only a few things to say about Hot Rod and that is that he is a rabbit dog and a gun dog deluxe. I have been sorry ever since I sold him

He isn't lying,I tried the dog for a week and ths dog is the real deal.Hot rod is the hole package,the only thing is his speed.He is a solid 7.I'm telling you though the dog hits the brush and can run a rabbit the right way.

This hound is as nice as you could want. He hunts hard, has a beautiful mouth and can run a rabbit to death. He doesn't care if he has the front or not but he will run with whatever you put him down with and he is a checking machine. He is tough on the rough scenting days when others are struggling.

If it wasn't for his lack of foot speed Bobby never would have got him from me but like Bobby said he runs with anything you put him down with and doesn't need the front to control the race.

I got Hot Rod as a pup from John Way .He started very easy .He always could run very well even at a young age .He will make someone a nice gundog.I put alot of time on him as a pup Also i had a few pups out of him and they all had very good hunt and could really drive a rabbit
