Snakes out on SE Ohio already
I just about stepped on a big copperhead on Saint Paddy's Day. After doing an Irish Jig He got away from me by sliding down a hole. I wasn't prepared. No walking stick, no pistol.
Rick Ahle got a good laugh at my dancing abilities. This warm weather is nice but the sheeters were out also. Didn't find any Ticks yet but I'll bet that they will be early this year as well. Didn't see any mushrooms yet either.

I took a tick off of my elbow yesterday in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
I saw my first mosquito on on Tuesday in Vito, Ohio.
I have not looked for mushrooms yet, but I expect to see them soon if the weather stays like this.

Went to some of he Green Ridge public grounds that I have been running at today. Went to sit on a rock ledge that I have been using all fall/winter--Changed my mind Mr SNAKE decided to sick about a foot of his body out to sun himself though I would let him have his way
--Been pulling ticks off of me and dogs for a month. Deer ticks all winter

Actually saw two a Black Snake(still a SNAKE) and a Rattler. It is illegal to kill them in this state of Maryland (State of the OFFENDED) so me and the dogs decided to head in a different direction. I am affraid of the snowless winter we had and this early Summer like weather this is just the beginning.

Re: Snakes out on SE Ohio already
Here in southern Ohio I've seen two snakes in three day. And picked off two tick while out running yesterday evening for an hour and then two more off me when I arrived at home. It's going to be bad I'm afraid!!
