Gunsmoke Bloodline Questions

Post by InTrapTrap »

Could anyone give me info on the Gunsmoke blood? Where did it originate? How did the dogs hunt? Is there any true Gunsmoke dogs around?

Depends on what era?

Jim Byram had the Gunsmoke Blueticks back in the 80's - 90's

Then he got his old Tadpole dog and got out of the blueticks.
The tadpole stuff is still out there.

A lot of the older gunsmoke stuff went back to Emmons Blue Streaker.I use to run with Jim Byram some at a club near Red Bay Alabama.he had several nice dogs but I liked Gunsmoke Blue Stony the best.this was approx 1992 or so .Bob Kirby was running a dog down there called Gay Bake that was a nice hound.James Petree was running Airport Lady and she was hell on wheels. More info than you asked for but your question took me back a ways.Funny how that seems to happen more often these days.

Thanks Joe. What would be the present day studs that are the most representative of the Gunsmoke line?
