Private land I agree, never. Club runnings grounds on private land ,never. However public land is to far, for some to think that there spot is there spot only is about the same mentality as deer hunters believing that they should be the only ones hunting during that season. But on the other hand ,even on public land I don't try and kill all the rabbits. Dead rabbits don't prove my dogs worth. But live rabbits will help make them get better.

If i took somebody to a spot on public land. I could careless if they went back and ran that spot. It's public. Private land is a different story.

To me, it takes a real lowlife to go back and run a spot that someone takes you to. I don't care if it is public or private, running on a spot a buddy takes you to isn't right.

Dont understand why people get upset about others running public land. What if you took your buddy to a place that you found a couple weeks ago and he says I've been running here the last two months.should you not go back then or should he still quit running there because you took him.

I think sometimes, or at least for me, it boils down to someone else taking advantage of the effort I put into finding a good spot. Most "good" spots around here aren't gonna be right off the side of the road. If there is a spot like that it got shot up looooong ago because it's easy to find and access.

What if your buddy only tags along to the spots you've found and never puts effort into finding his own? Would you feel differently about it then? Besides I think most guys would agree that the buddies they take to these spots wouldn't do it in the first place and that's why they take them to the spots in the first place. I have a few guys that I run with and the spots we find on public land is kinda for all of us............but we each still give the other the courtesy of asking about it first. These guys trust me not to bring any old person out there that could ruin a good spot and vice versa.

I look at it same as "my" fishing spots.........I may help point you in the right direction but I'll be darned if I'm always gonna do all the work so you don't have to.

Some even go back to spots that a hunting club holds trials on and kills the rabbits.
After a while the owners won't let the club use it for the folks coming back and hunting where hunting with a gun was never intended for its use.
Find your own spots and don't join a club just to find theirs!

Never had a problem, I will not go back to any spot I went to with anybody else. I only take people I can trust to my spots and then I make it clear as black and white what will happen if they do.

Dave that really sucks!!! Glad to hear all you got was a butt chewing and they didn't throw you right back out for good. If it's the farm I'm thinking of you are right, they don't let hardly anybody in at all. The few I have talked to in the past also stopped letting guys in because they would shoot up their trees.

I'm pretty picky with who I run dogs with let alone hunt with. I'm in agreement with folks about private property but public property is just that, for ALL public use. If folks don't want others hunting those spots then you better not take them to it to begin with. Having owned a piece of property for numerous years with a couple old ponds on it that used to be a pay to fish small camp site I have learned why many property owners stop others from hunting/fishing their property. My home sits right on the front pond and after giving a guy or two permission to fish they seemed to want to fish it to death and would have another different "friend" with them every time. The icing on the cake was when I gave one friend permission to fish when he said he had a couple older guys that couldn't get around very good. My front pond has a lane all around the perimeter so it is easy to get around plus it has some nice bluegill and crappie in it. I told him that he could fish but I didn't want any minnows of any kind to be used as I didn't want the junk fish in my ponds. He came out a couple of times and seemed to have someone different with him each time but I never really gave it much thought. The last time he came out I had nothing else going on and I noticed he had another different fellow with him that wasn't such an old guy. I saw them catching fish so I walked out to where he was sitting behind a tree and saw the minnow bucket. I told him to turn all the fish loose that he had and to not bother calling to fish again. That ended it for almost all until a young neighbor that lived down the road came to ask permission to fish one day. I gave him permission to fish and he understood NO minnows and never brought any but he came by to fish about every three or four days that summer. One day I got a call from this young man's dad to ask if he could come and catch some more fish from my pond to put into his. That ended that for even more. What I never could understand before has been made pretty clear over the years. YES, sad as it is, one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch especially when this happens over and over. I guess it is like a lot of other things in that different people have different perceptions of a situation BUT when I'm at the mercy of getting permission onto someone's property their rules is the only perception that need be understood.
