what causes a 2 yr. old to blowe-up

been running dogs for 27 yrs. and never had a 2 yr. blowe up but seem lattly guys are haveing this happen. Why ???? I had it just happen two me about three mothes ago he was a great running puppy and then boom you out him in a pacf of fast dogs and he would starte to grabe any track and run it. That is backwords or the wrong one . But put him alone he was great just couldn't handle the pressure. I did it right when he was young , started him at 6 months and ran him alone and with my 8 yr old sometimes even ran him with other dogs his age. gun hunted him killed alot of rabbits at a yr old. At two he just made a couple mistakes and by 2 half he was a night mare with other dogs. By him self great but in a pack night mare.

sometimes you get a bad apple......nothing you can do or nothing you did wrong.

I have had only one to go bad like that. I had a young male that went back to Jiggs Maggies Mate and he was a hunting and running machine and did an outstanding job his 1st hunting season. His 2nd hunting season he started out just like his 1st then I took him to Mississippi to hunt swamp rabbits and he did an outstanding job the whole week I hunted down there. When I got back my dogs were worn out and thin from a week of pounding swampers so I rested them for a week and when I took them back out he barked the whole time I was in the field, wouldn't shut up. I knew his nose was stronger than the other dogs so I said to myself poor scenting conditions. The next day same thing and it kept getting worse so I let him go and the fellow that I let have him knew the dog and was going to try to work with him but he couldn't put up with it and got rid of him. Last I heard of him he was heading up north. I have always wondered why he changed like that.

I have a Gyp that was running rabbits at 4 months old a long derby so I waited till the 2nd year to trial her placed in all THREE trials I placed her in. I was told from MANY people who were experts as far as knowing when good dogs have the POTENTIAL of being GREAT dogs that she could and would win and possibly FINISH as a SPO FC. Then it happened at 20 months old she started causing "Train Wrecks" each and every time I put her down, I put her "In Jail" for 4 months same thing. She is now almost three and I have exhausted every thing that know and have been advised on to do soooo she is DONE.

I only thing that I have NOT tried is to "Break Her Down" by running her into the ground so she has NO CHOICE but to slot as I do not have the time to do this
