[Househounds]

I can relate to what Norwester1 says. I run in southern and mid MI and we see temps from 70 in Sept. to -10 in Feb durng hunting season. It always seems to take my dogs a few times out in the cold to get dialed in and then if we have a warm spell they can run em like they are tied to em, but get sloppy and mouthy at times once they have circled a few. Especially my "cold" nosed mouthy Max. Just this season we were out in fresh powder and temps in the singles and he was my hero that day. I am lucky to have a dog of each "style".

A "WISE MAN" , my father, once told me, Most guys dont know what a good hound is. Actually hes told me that many times. Obviously to me hes been proven correct many times over. Personally for me as much as i could not take the dingle jangle bangle of a dog with a bell on it i would go BONKERS listening to a Babbling Cold Trailing hound that dont know which way the track went with a bell on it. JMO tho.
