yea i just caught the junie and superdog female part and they seem to all look alot alike but anyways ive been tryin to find some littermates to my copper dog so if any info on those itd b greatly apriciated

If I'm reading this right that is not the correct way to measure a dog!! You are to walk the dog under the stand they then adjust the dog and drop the bar then tighten it and put the measure on it! Its not supposed to be preset!!

This is Correct to Some Part BUT you can use a PRESET device in all registries Except AKC field trials I have used and SEEN used in Countless AKC/UKC/ICABA events a WICKET http://www.ezwicket.com/ used Where all they are measuring for is that the Hound is NOT OVER the 13 or 15" limit So YES a regular Stand CAN be preset at the 13" or 15" mark and placed over the hounds whithers by being brought up from behind the dog when it has been placed by the handler or Set down over the whithers been done this way since WAY BACK!! NOW if there is a Question as to the correct height of the Stand or Wicket then it should be checked with a tape or measuring rod to the correct height with all involved as witness..IF at ANY time an OFFICIAL MEASURE needs to be taken You place the stand over the whither and put the bar down and lock it into place then read the measurement.
now all that being said the stand you made will work for a good estimate but You are to far back on the hound, as explained in another post the legs are a good reference tool when the hound is standing correctly both front legs will be well under them the whithers are directly over the legs where the shoulder blades meet and you can feel the indentation.. THAT is where the bar should be placed. the hounds head should be at or around the 10 oclock position. Now we STACK all our hounds with their head up or as some will call it a SHOW STACK We train ours this way from early on and that is the way they stand most of the time but if you watch one just putzin around they usually will carry their head at or around the 10 o clock position and yes when STACKED they will measure a little taller but I have never seen them go over 1/4 to 1/2 inch taller...

I did get the pics. Nice looking hound. I have the dam of jumpNRun's pup. If Junie ever goes back on public stud, I hope to make that cross again.

He made it in to the UKC hunt the other day and they said he was fine a perfect 15" hound... They said I was standing him up to much that your suppose to let the dog walk into it and stand at his normal stance... And he made it!!!

He got 4th place in the hunt and won the whole show





Oh and Pride I am sorry man I thought I was in the same boat as you... I just hope he keeps it up and doesnt get even a piece bigger or I am in trouble lol
