i was having trouble with mine losing signal every day... ended up both antennas i got with the system were bad. i switched to a tough skin antenna and took it out monday for the first time... held a full communication and gps signal all day. never had a single problem or sputter out of it.

Call Garmin and explain what is happening. They have been good with helping me.

Art,

Silicone dielectric grease on the two terminals ( antennae and gps wire) under the metal cover helps if you are losing signal when the unit gets wet.....autoparts stores have it for sensitive waterproof electrical connections
