Mr. Taylor,
Apparently you weren't on the ground long enough to notice who our marshal was, Mr. Bruce New. When Bruce introduced himself, that probably made my trip. As I am student of the game, not a newbie fad follower, I know what the New City and New Country dogs did, as well as John and Bruce judging did to frame the Mid West and seperate it from the UBGF in those parts. While Bruce didn't offer to share his opinion throughout the two days, I did ask him several times in discussions with my partner what he thought about certain dogs. I particulary asked him what a Mid West judge would have done after giving the second pack 5 rabbits that were not accounted for, he said they probably would have left a couple down and not used them...so be thankful that we freed up the rest of your day.

Good luck chasing a win with your blown up dog! Perhaps somebody should take care of him and that puppy starter for you?

And may god give patience to any person you have to judge with to deal with your ignorance and arrogance.

All i can say is i hope that one of the mid west clubs will get Kane and Fowles to judge another one of the 15" male classes. I would love to see if enough hounds showed up to have a trial. And believe me 95% of the ones i spoke to at that trial was highly pissed off by the time the 3rd pack had run in the first series. I might be the only one that posted but trust me i'm not alone.

M&M's i highly recomend you to get them to judge the 15"males at the coal mine classic i bet the turn out would be unreal.

I'm good thanks. My wife is due in two weeks and I have enough going on around here.

7 dogs stayed down after the first three packs...perhaps we should have looked at all 18 at that point? Is that part of this Mid West format that I can't find the rules for on the AKC site?

I also heard that you were dismissed while judging your first trial. The AKC frowns on that, way to make a first impression.

Wah wah, if we did that would be just fine with me I don't run backtracking, rough running, mouthy dogs!!! That sounds like that's what they were picking up. Get over it, it was 1 trial. You really need to step back and look how ridiculous you look whining about this.

Hey Taylor...just so you know a good dog is suppose to "run a lot of rabbit" not "run lots of rabbits"

By the way if you want to breed one of your FC's to Moon you might be able to get the stud fee a little cheaper if you can win the stud auction here is a link so you can bid.

Chris Powers wrote:Guys I've ran and ran with the male dog that won the big male class and I promise he can foot up with any male dog that runs a rabbit line the correct way that the Akc rule book calls for
I own the dog that placed 4th and he is the same type of hound as Chris has described. He has enough foot to keep up with anything and real good close check work. I had another male entered and he can push as hard as any dog I've seen run but can get rough, he runs alot like one of the near field champions currently being campaigned, and he got yanked too. My buddy said he looked like a 747 looking for a place to land, LOL. I know the strengths and weaknesses of the dogs I run so I wasn't surprised at the results. Everyone knows that judging beagles is not an exact science and everyone has been frustrated a some point, me included, but I don't understand the personal attacks. Many folks complain about a dog that's rougher than hell winning a AKC Mid-West trial. It goes both ways. Good luck to everyone.

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE JUDGES,MARSHALLS ,AND EVERYONE THAT ENTERED A HOUND AT JESSAMINE CO.BEAGLE CLUB LIC.TRIAL,WE HAD AN EXCELLENT TURNOUT.NOW LETS SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT,THESE GENTLEMAN (ROB KANE-JIM FOWLES) ARE NOT WALKIE TALKIE JUDGES AS SOMEONE STATED ON HERE.THESE TWO JUDGES WHERE VERY VERY CONSISTANT IN THE HOUNDS THEY WERE KEEPING ON THE GROUND TO RUN THE RABBIT AND IT SHOWED ALL THROUGH THE WINNERS PACK AS THE DOGS POUNDED UNTIL THE TRAIL WAS OVER.WHAT I WAS SEEING IS THAT THEY LIKE A DOG THAT WORKED CLOSE FROM THE POINT OF LOSS AND WHEN A DOG GRABBED THE CHECK LEAVE WITH IT.JMO THAT IS WHY I THINK THEY HAD SUCH EXCELLENT RUNNING IN THE WINNERS PACK BECAUSE THESE TWO GENTLEMEN KNOWING WHAT IT TOOK TO RUN A RABBIT WITH SPEED BUT CONTROL.NOW WHEN YOU WANT TO GET ON HERE AND BASH THE JUDGES FOR PICKING UP YOUR HOUND I THINK YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG AND THE REASON I AM SAYING THAT IS BECAUSE ALL OF THE TRIALS YOU HAVE HAD HIM AT FOR AT LEAST THE LAST YEAR OR SO HE HAS BEEN GETTING PICKED UP ,SO DON'T GO BLAMING THESE TWO JUDGES FOR DOING THERE JOB KNOWING THAT IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOMETIME.YOU GET YES MEN ON HERE BLOWING A DOG UP AND TRYING TO MAKE HIM MORE THAN WHAT HE ACTUALLY IS AND PROBABLY NEVER SAW THE DOG RUN JUST GOING ON SOMEONE ELSE WORD AND TO ME THAT'S THE PROBLEM (BLOWN UP). NOW I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO TAKE THIS WRONG,BUT WHAT I SAY ON HERE I CAN SAY FACE TO FACE WE CAN AGREE TO DISAGREE.WITH THAT BEING SAID I WANT TO COMPLEMENT EACH AND EVERY JUDGE IN EVERY CLASS FOR PUT TOGETHER SOME EXCELLENT WINNERS PACK BECAUSE THEY POUNDED.YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE YOUR NAY SAYERS BUT THE EXCELLENT RUNNING AND THE QUALITY OF DOGS THE JUDGES TOOK TO THE WINNERS PACK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.WE NEED MORE JUDGES TO LOOK AT THE DOGS THAT RUN THE RABBIT AND NOT JUST SPRINTING TO THE FRONT KEEPING THE RACE MESSED UP.

Taylor...I appreciate the offer, but I think if I crossed on a greyhound I'd get closer check work and more accountability.

Don if you would read all my post you will see i never said one word about them picking my dog up, most of the time he is the first dog picked up because of his running style he was the 4th dog picked up at this trial in his pack. I have never said one word about any judge on here that has picked him up and they have been several. I did mention to you face to face at the trial that i wished i would have knowed that they were going to judge like that and you told me that you didn't know yourself that they were like that.

Congrats to all the winners and those who placed!! I'm sure they are probably the best hounds being trialed in the mid west right now.

Lol. You still don't get it. Foot speed isn't any thing if you can't control the track!!!!
