Looking for Holster for the Encore 410 pistol with a 15" barrel.

Anyone hunting with one of these, what is best wearing holster?

Only ones found are Uncle Mike's or Thompson Center holster.

What's Best???

I have the 15" hip holster right from TC but more often than not I find myself just tucking it in the left side of my hunting vest with the handgrip sticking out.
If I dont put a second strap around my thigh, near the bottom part of holster it just flops all around. Seems to pick up a lot of dirt and snow on the hip as well.
Good luck and let us know what you go with!
Dave

I feel sure i want some kind of Shoulder holster, i wear bib overalls on most hunts and do not care to wear a belt on outside of those for attachment of holster. i might end up like you said and just using my hunting vest. my local guys at gun shop wanting to place longer bolt in stock and attach sling straight to butt end of grip. if you look far enough (cannot remember where) on internet i found a kit that does just that but they were sold out, but that still leaves the problem of having it around your shoulder and when you go to shoot, you would have to take completelty off i would think.

The Encore comes with a rifled barrel to accomodate the 45 colt round.
There is a choke tube that is designed to separate the wad from the shot when shooting 410 shells but it must be removed before shooting the 45 colt round. The Hornandy Lever Revolution rounds are incredibly accurate and hit about 10" higher as compared to a standard round at 75 yds.( 15" barrel)
In MI I had to register the handgun as a 45 colt.

If I remember right I got my contender shoulder holster from http://www.pistolpackaging.com

It's made of nice leather with shell loops on it. I beat it up pretty good b/c it sticks out beneath my coat but thats exactly what I use it for.

x3 on dave jensen at quiet hide. He will make you a very nice holster for a very reasonable price. I have two and beat the tar out of them and they will hold up to any kind of abuse you can dish out.
