Clean out the box good and start feeding him in the dog box. Dog will quit crapping where he eats. I had a female pup who would poop in the box. Started feeding her in the box in the back of truck. She quit pooping and started loading better too. If he still poops, try hauling him in a smaller crate/ box. If the box is big they will poop on one side and sit on the other side. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy hunting

Duct tape works good for me...LOL. I had a male that would crap in his dox house all the time. I put a second top on the box and lowered it so he only had enough room to crawl in. As far as a dog box I am not sure. I have had dogs crap in the dog box before but I haul mine in a pickup. It is aggrevating but at least we dont have to smell it the whole ride to a hunting spot. If there was some way to rig up a division so that he could only crawl in the box it might help.

I dont know a thing about the over all behavior of your dog, I like the idea of trying to feed him in the box, but at the same time if he is an average hound why bother. If you look on line right now there are probably hundred's of dogs for sale that all come equipped with some sort of "issue" project dogs I call them and honestly I dont want or need them. I am not trying to be insulting just giving my honest opinion.

Many times it is a dog showing its dominance, especially if there are females and another male.
You need to be the big dog, not him, so pee on the box and on his sleeping box and on him to show you are boss.
It solves a lot of problems if this is done first thing to a new dog.

I feed my dogs late in the afternoon so they don't need to crap in the AM when I take them out hunting. Never had them mess in my dog box.

Not really anymore demented than sticking one in a barrel and booting it down the hill.Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do!

They do it to each other, the males. Always a dominate one in every pack.

Watch them pee on things when a new dog is added and how they watch to see who has peed in what order.
The dog that pees last over the other dogs pee is the pack leader and boss of the pen.

You must be that boss, the dominate one for so many reasons that will make your life easier.

If a dog is doing something you object to barring a physical problem, it is trying to tell you something and you should listen instead of discarding.

You do not say how old the dog is bodetis, is he young? I have one that did it to and outgrew it in 6 months. This same dog still won't load himself in the box but at least stays clean. It is nerves with him, just don't like riding down the road.He figured out he likes what happens when he does though  Does he do it on the way home? I used indoor- outdoor carpet and swapped it out as needed.

Generally, no cure but to cull. I have a jeep that I put 5 or 6 dogs in every day and this is a total and very large fault. It is what I call a bad "social habit".
