I have a TC super 14 that shoots 3" #5's the best. Can't find them any more though. Used to find Federal #5 shot at Cabelas in southern Michigan , but they stopped carrying them last I checked. What brand of shell do you get your 5's in and where do you find them ?
I am using the federal, I got a few boxes a couple of years ago, and haven't looked for any recently.

i would never consider such a small caliber to do the job that a 10 gauge was made to do.
the rabbits here are monsters, teeth, claws, rib cages like steel.
I use a Magnum Research BFR .410, I use #8 magnum lead shot. Effective range is about 35 yds. The BFR uses the same choke as a TC, the range is the same the only advantage you get is that it's a 5 shot revolver so if you miss you get a few extra tries.
It's great to have 2 hands to round up your dogs at the end of the day, it's also nice on snowy years to be able to slip your revolver in the holster and keep it nice and dry.
I just got a used snake charmer from sporting arms, it has a small stock with a pistol grip, and a 18 1/4" barrel, as in ny anything less than 18" is considered a handgun, anybody ever shot one of these, which load would you use?

Well i went looking today at a couple local gun shops and didnt find what i was looking for. One had a 357 and a seperate 10 in 45/410 barrel. But i would like to get one with a 12 or 14 in barrel
I hunt with a rossi. I like it. Killed tons of rabbits and shot good. killed rabbits up to around 35 yds. its not a tc or encoure but very nice for 279. its a 410, 45 long and 22 lr
Cheapest I've seen is the Commanche at about $150 up to $800+ for the Magnum Research BFR. A good used TC Contender can usually be had in the $400-500 range. You don't want to buy one that doesn't have a choke, you will disappointed if you try to use it for hunting.
i found one today. Its a tc g2 contender with the 12in barrel. When i went to get some ammo for it i had a hard time finding what i was looking for. I ended up with a couple boxes of 6's, a box of 7.5's, and a box of 4's i couldnt find any 5's at cabelas. Now i have to wait till friday to try it out
