Blood in Stool

Blood in Stool

I went out to the kennel this morning to clean it out and i noticed that there was blood in his stool it wasnt that much but there was about a nickel size spot of blood in there and was wondering what this is a sign of he act alright he was in a trial yesterday and got 2nd he acts and looks fine i was just wondering

The dog should be alright, but monitor closely, I have seen hounds that run REAL HARD and have a some bloody stool for a couple of days after...Someone told me that it was not that uncommon to happen. Tony

Very common to see a bit of colitis develop in dogs when worked in the field, and one sign can be some bright red blood. It should not continue beyond 24 hours though. If it does then you absolutely should have a fecal sample analyzed.
