Hycreek Briar Proof Wear
Anybody here have the Hycreek briar proof jacket/bibs set they advertised in Better Beagling? If so how comfortable is it? How durable is it? How true to size is it?

Dixie, here is my overall experience.
1. waterproof and complete system which is great when raining or snowing
2. Very good materials and jacket has great pockets for shocker and gps plus many pockets
3. Bibs are ok, not the greatest, i have mule chaps and would say they are better with briars, but the bibs much better than just wearing brush pants, and keep you dry
overall I would purchase again, and they are pretty comfortable to wear

I was interested in buying some recently , and looked into them on their website. I thought they were made in Michigan , but found out they were imported.I was very disappointed. I like to keep my money here to support our American work force, so I bought Dan's hunting bibs from golden acre supplies. Wore them for the first time at North Central Ohio Beagle club's trial Saturday and stayed bone dry. They got here faster than expected too. Just a few days.I would recommend them. Here is a link

Thanks for the review, sounds like a good buy for me then because I rarely ever wear my bibs anyway.Bellmorekennels wrote:Dixie, here is my overall experience.

I checked out their website and then went to the Dan's hunting clothing website and couldn't see any mention of where their hunting coats and bibs were made...the only country of origin I saw was their boots that were made in the Netherlands. I haven't seen many made in the US jackets/bibs for awhile....even Carhartt is imported.wireman252 wrote:I was interested in buying some recently , and looked into them on their website. Re: Hycreek Briar Proof Wear
Well the Dan's bibs I just bought have the tag inside and they are made in USA. Unfortunately the only way I found out they were American made was a site that is on the link below. Dan's should advertise better. I believe most guys would buy American made if given a "KNOWN" choice. Especially if they are comparable in price.Check this site out here. http://americanmadeoutdoors.com/ then get to the hunting clothes and they have them there.
Re: Hycreek Briar Proof Wear
I think Dan's are made by the Amish in Ohio. I have a Dan's coat, real nice.
I live back in the woods you see, my woman and the kids and the dogs and me.

Dixiedog, just noticed you from maine, I guess you run mostly hare. In which case hycreek definitely good for you, as I hunt mostly cottontail and really put them to the test with briars. Plus mine cam with a fleece jacket and thermals which are real nice.

Red AKC Gundogs Just one more chase.RNB Eastview Tomahawk Chief 1996-2006
Re: Hycreek Briar Proof Wear
Yes I only run hare. The fleece jacket and thermals were one of the things that got me taking a second look at them. Seems like a good deal, I like all the pockets and holders for transmitter/gps units also. I carry a lot of crap with me so when it comes to storage I want a lot of it.Bellmorekennels wrote:Dixiedog, just noticed you from maine, I guess you run mostly hare.
