I expect Chance to make a big name for himself as a reproducer unless God forbid, he should die at a young age before he's able to put several offspring on the ground. I judged him for hours in 80 degree weather against some of the best at that time, FC Main Events Showtime & FC Mountain Ash Dino. I was also judging with a well repected judge Tony Eyer; almost as well repected as me.lol. We both had Chance winning hands down. As a former owner of Prime Time, he reminded me of Time in a lot of ways: he has the same loud, clear squall coming out of a check that quickly changes into a loud, clear chop that no other hound out there has so he's easily picked out of a pack. Chance is also very smooth on the line; this is what I call line control; being able to to adjust left or right without breaking down, slowing down & keeping the drive moving without having to stop for unnecessary checks because of the built in talent & strong nose to put distance between themselves & the pack by being able to keep the line moving quickly by themselves. Another thing I noticed about Chance that reminded me of Prime Time was his "never give up" attitude on tough checks. He may have been even better at that this than his old man! Maybe; he has the patience, desire & brains to stay, work & find the tricky checks that the rest of his packmates had given up on. I watched him (Chance) time after time find the losses when the rabbit had doubled back the same way it had origionally came from. One time, after 15 minutes or so, Chance was the only hound still looking for the check & he actually jumped it out of it's bed where it had squatted and wasn't going to run anymore unless a dog made it. Several dogs ventured very close to where the rabbit was , but it held tight until Chance worked the fairly old scent right up to where old bunny was & the race was on again. Without Chance, that rabbit was safe in that bed until it decided to feed later that night. Chance's dam is no slouch to say the least, She is a Mid-West AKC FC by FTC Mikermas Superdog & a bitch directly by IFC Branko's Heli-Prop; Prop is my favorite Branko hound of all time, but don't tell anyone. FC Smith's Bonny Lou, Chance dam, has been the Mid-West's Top Dam twice & FC Brent's Prime Time, his sire won the Top Sire award 4 times. Give Chance a try with a good bred & running bitch & I think you will be more than satisfied. Nothing against the other nice males mentioned especially in my post because I think they are great hounds also, but I really think that Chance is going to be one of the reproducers that will be be remembered for years to come.

Economy is a b!tch at the moment, but if I was to go outside my own kennel and they were a lot closer here's three that I'd breed to: FC JR's Topgun Tyke, FC Bushmaster's Snowshoe Hawkeye, and FC Farrier's Blue Demon. Too bad one is 7 hours away and other two are 12 to 14 hours away.

I have noticed the better beagling magazines are being filled up with young prospects out of Tyke.

Jamie,
I just picked up a female pup off of F.C. Farrier's Blue Demon. All I can say is WOW!!! I really like this pup. She is all business and I have been afraid to take he into the woods because I'm worried about loosing her. I have attempted it once and she try to run with the dogs and I never know where she's at. Very smart and fast actions for a 3 month old pup. When I was judging I always wanted a litter out of Blue Demon. He was fast clean and very level headed. He also seemed to have a very good nose. I'm glad I got my hands on this little female. I'm thinking he has only been bred twice and I have the only pup that may see any trials all other pups went to hunters.
Glacier Ridge Renegade is also producing some nice dogs as Terry suggested. he is now at stud with Adam Seger down in Indiana from what I gather.

I'm going with FC Bushmaster Snowshoe Hawkeye. Got the plans in place to breed a female to him later this year.
