Lights
I'm thinking about getting some lights to put on my dogs for night time running. it's just about to hot to run in the day time down here.
I wanted to get some opinions on which lights are the best. Easiest to see, most durable, and longest lasting, or anything else that may be helpful.
Thanks

Re: Lights
Just bought the tracker brand. I think that is the manufacturer of them. They are very bright and easily seen I think they look durable. Only used them once so far and they did great!!! Should have got them a while ago. I run at night about once to twice a week and it gives me more peace of mind being able to see them.

Re: Lights
I looked into the tracker lights, but decided to go with the tri-tronics tracer lights since i already had the tri-tronics shock collars. They also work good. I like them because they tie right in with the shock collars and you dont have to hang something else from your dogs neck. You can also turn the lights on and off from your transmitter to conserve the battery life.

Re: Lights
I went with the trackers from Chuck prather also. love them.blue and white are the brightest.
Re: Lights
Nite lite has a sale on the trackers right now and they are by far the best. I have used them for years. The TT ones use a lot of battery power and are much more expensive.

I have the ones from Nite Light magazine, they work awsome when your trying to catch dogs at night. One of the best things i have bought for running dogs.

Re: Lights
We mainly use the Tracker Brand that just slips on over the collor. I try to match them up with the color of the shocker and tracker that the dog is wearing. That way green is green and orange is orange and so on. I also have one of the Marshal tracking collers with the light. It works great but can be hard to see at times on a beagle. The lights are on the bottom and both sides of the tacker and with that under the dogs neck it seams to block the light. I think they are more designed for treeing dogs. They show up great on larger hounds and once a hound is up against a tree. With the Tracker lights I try to position them so that they are on top of the dogs neck. I have heard people say that it helps with coyotes too. We have blue, White, green , orange , red. YOu can also flip the battery over if you want a constant light or just a flash.

Re: Lights
I like the Trackers also. The battery life is unreal and they are easy to replace and find. One word of advise on them, make sure if they are on the collar they are screwed on tight. If the lens is not tight (light will be cut off) the lens will fall off and is worthless.

Re: Lights
One other very important word of advise. Take the rubber cover that slides over the collar off and throw it away. Use some pliable metal strip to permanently affix them to your collar. If you use them a lot, the rubber cover will rot and fall off and your light is gone. Happened to me several times before I got the message.
