Disappointed with quality of dogs

Good ole tri-tronics may have something to do with there hunt. But personally I think it's the best thing since lightbread. I'll take the pro's over the con's with the tritronics though

Hmm, I have always trialed my hunting dogs.I never knew the difference and still dont.There is no substitute for fur.No one will ever convince me different.If i cant kill rabbits with my pack why in the hell would i show up to win a trophy?

Where's is the HUNT! What happened to the young dogs of the old days when you turned them loose you had to worry about how to get them back. Now it seems you have other worries like tripping on them. I used to have to work hard on them to get them to handle, not any more just cough or stop hissing and walking they will be right at your feet. I am not talking about one breed or dog just beagles as a whole. JMO

I wil agree with that from what i seen about trails a pure rabbit couldnt win a trial are some they couldnt LP is one

Not bragging there rabbitsmoker but look me up sometime and I'll show you some little pack hounds that hunt as hard as anything, you can kill a ton of rabbits with and still bring home the hardware.

Money talks . If u want the best out there u will pay for them and we aint talking 1000.00 . The good above average hounds no matter what the blood will start at 2500.00 As for breeding and this is just my opinion. Breeding traits together is my prefrance, true u will be doing line breeding and sometimes in breeding but getting family members together with the same traits works for me. You just have to be smart and not put to many eggs in one basket. My best hounds in this way of breeding came on the 3rd generations. Just my findings guys . HTKENNELS

Alright, all you people who have responded to this thread, respond to this man's need. Augerhead is pretty much telling you that he wants a top notch hound and is willing to pay for it. I hear recommendations but, if you have one that meets his requirements, why don't you give him a call. It should not be so hard if you can back up what you espouse. Why are there so many for sale on the various boards and we have 5 pages of response to this man who is crying out in the wilderness but nobody so far has offered to sell him the type of dog he wants? If I had anything close, I would let him know. If you have two coats, give your brother one. Come on, step up. I will guarantee you will get your name and reference on this board if you have something that he will like. Matter of fact, if you can please him, I will personally buy you a steak dinner just to get him to quit looking.

Thanks TLEE, I,m Looking for a good young dog, 6mth to maybe 12mths or so, not looking for a made dog. What I want is a young big hound thats 15" or better or going to make that. It must show Hard hunt, speed, good loud mouth and have very competetive nature. I don't expect a pup to be a rabbit dog, but you can still see these qualities at a young age. I don't care what color, sex,trash problems,handling issues,and if their a little rough. Doesn't seem like alot to me to ask for. Oh buy the way also can't tolerate bad social issues growling,barking all night,yanking, or messing in the dog box.

DOB 7-10-10 Sire FC Abshires Junie and Dam FC Abshires Abbie. This male is a full 15" Hound he has been runned several hours and is starting to show the tools it takes to make a nice hound.Fault as listed He is the hard headest dog to date i have raised handles like a Mack Truck. The plus side he has a mouth that will shake the trees and good hunt for a youngster. If you have the money i think i may have the dog. You are welcome to a trial of 2 weeks you loose him you bought him.1200.00.

Guys im pretty sure that this very thing is what augerhead is concerned with.. your saying that you have a young dog that you think will suit him.. but to drive 5 hours to try it and if he looses him he buys him.. for 1200.00.. For one thing in my opinion a dog that may make or a dog that you have to herd to catch is not worth this kind of money... I mean no direspect..But im pretty sure he aint gonna take a 1200.00 chance on trying him if your telling him that he doesnt handle well.. I think what augerhead is trying to say, or ask is, that he wants a young dog thats got it and got it all.. i would say that if he found that kinda dog he would pay out the whasooo for it...i believe that theres a thing called the " IT FACTOR " in young dogs and some have it and some dont..
