Going for the long shot with Tango; I like it ! Although a great young hound, she only has 8 points; Ivy & Harley have around 40. Tango better get on a roll this fall !

Greg your picks would be pretty close to mine.

13" males- doubt anyone can catch doc

13" female- my favorite wouldve been markums southridge storm but unfortunatly she lost her life way too early. My next pick would be shadow.

15" female- I think it will be a close 3 dog race all the way to the end between angel, Harley, n ivy with ivy coming out on top.

15" male-I would like to see bigtime hit all the hunts, he put on the best show I saw this spring. I doubt he does so I also believe Patterson will pull it off with bullseye. Either way, both are really nice young hounds.

Greg no direspect and wont bad mouth a dog on this board as good judges with good eyes will see if a certain dog listed is ran in thick briars as you have one listed that skirts thick cover/briars showed up last of trial season and was beaten for this reason.

They all have faults & I'm sure the Mid-West judges will pick up a dog if it continues to do this. If any of my favorites have this habit, they must have started doing it since the last time I saw them run . Please just list your favorites if you want to make a post on this subject; no need to point out anyone's dog's faults. This was not a post meant for anything other than beaglers to have a little fun trying to predict the Mid -West Hound Of the Year winners.

jeff several dogs beat a hound you have listed last year, mainly where there was a lot of thick cover and briars, so if that hound can be touched then it can happen again, some these dogs were very young hounds and now a year older and better, heli prop and ali baba both set a standard. my buddy Joe Wingate judged ali baba when he won at the trial of champions in a convincing matter. AlI Baba he says is in the category best 13 males in the last 30 years. no offense just lot good dogs these days never knew dog go 100% undefeated

I watched ALI-BABA run at 10 years old against younger dogs and flat put it on them for a couple hrs then he winded down ,the dogs he was down with at the time are now well known .

Steve you seem to be very judgmental of Doc. Did he happen to defeat a Church's dog a few times? I know he has at least once because I was judging that day. In fact Doc got second that day while a hound from your kennel got third. Consequently if my memory serves me well, Doc as well as the first place hound had about twice as much score as any other dog in the pack. I've judge him twice, one of which was on dry ground last fall and most recently on snow back in January. Both times he got second and both times the same dog defeated him. That winning dog happens to be second in Midwest standings at the moment and in his own right a very good hound as well. Anyhow I don't remember Doc skirting thick cover or any briars either times I judged him. Then again who knows maybe the gallery saw something the judges didn't see.

Nevertheless all dogs do wrong from time to time, but that doesn't justify coming on a message board and basically trying to discredit them. In closing I think you've misunderstood what Jeff and others were saying about Doc. Yes Doc has been beaten by other dogs. Heck on any given day any given dog can win. Instead what was insinuated is that with 60 some points there's very little chance any other dog in the hound of the year standings is going to catch up. Furthermore I'd say Doc has a strong chance of winning Better Beagling's award as well. Didn't he get 2nd place last year? Doc Watson is a very consistent hound that's usually always in the winners pack and furthermore placing. I believe he has around 8 wins this spring.

A bit of advice if I may... rather than dropping names of your buddies on every post you make, perhaps you should run your dogs more so you can speak of their accomplishments yourself rather than saying so and so says this or that coulda, shoulda, woulda... Most beaglers deal in reality rather than in fantasy. Good day and good luck!
