A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Rabbitsmoker : Hey man i know what you mean about throwing in the towel in the last 2 years i sold all my dogs and bought all new ones i started buying all my beagles from from David Tipton of Topnotch kennels at Vichy Mo. and Mike Tooley at Willow Springs Mo. of REDHILL Kennels and 13 dogs later i`m now very please with what i got and now able to hunt and run year around . The hot weather don`t seem to hurt mine to much but again i don`t run mine past 10am in the summer time but they can handle all weather conditions very well but that goes back to the way i run and train my dogs . Thanks Jimmy Leach

You can waste your time reading bulletin boards and cursing your dogs, but it'is in the genes. If you want brush busters, find a beagler like the Perry guy you mentioned, look at his hounds, and if that is what you like go for it. Buying over hyped culls off bulletin boards is a waste of time and money.
They all run great on the internet. The bulletin boards are air conditioned, have no briars, and the videos sound great winter or summer.

And again like you said this time of the year our areas of runnig is going to be thicker and hot where i run and i`m glad i got this place is i run my dogs on a lake and there is alot of rabbits , shade ( for me LOL ) , and plenty of water to keep the dogs cool and it goes from the lake to the river bottom and on into the swamp and tons of rabbits . I never had a dog get hot but have had one lay in the water for a little bit and get back up and start running againg . I hope you find the dogs you are looking for .Thanks Jimmy Leach
