If you decide to start an ARHA little Pack club, I will be happy to come down & go over the rules & bring you the materials & info to get going. I will also come & bring a couple more with me, to help judge or train judges or assist you in a fun hunt. I have been involved in little Pack since 1989 & would be glad to help you anyway possible. Just let me know when & how I can help. I will even bring a couple dogs down & let you boys out run me while we are going over the rules if you like. I have met Bopeye & if the rest of you cats are like him, it will be no problem to get a good club going.

I'm a little excited about this, so I decided to tell everyone.
I kept a female pup out of Jackshaft X Socks pups that I had.
Pat of Cannon Hollow Hounds has one as well and he was talking about how well his little hound was doing and I can now say I'm seeing the same thing for myself.
Tonight I turned loose a San Juan just to see how my two pups would react to it. I let it meander around the yard until it got out of site and then I turned my two pups out. It didn't take too long and my little female hit the trail and started following it. The next thing I know, she had went in behind a brush pile where I had last seen the rabbit and then the rabbit came out running at full tilt just a few feet in front of her. She even opened up a little with a squall/chop type sound. I was smiling ear to ear. The race only lasted about 15 to 20 seconds and then she lost the rabbit and so did I. Now I know this isn't what some of you would call a fantastic achievement since it was a tame rabbit and for the most part a site chase, but it sure did make me happy to see her trying to catch the rabbit. My son thought it was pretty neat too. He's just turned 3 on Monday, but he's really enjoying this taking care of the dogs thing. My pup will be 4 months old on the 7th of this month and has just been back in my kennel for about a week now.
Well I suppose that's enough hot air for now, just wanted to share it with people who know the feeling of seeing a pup progress into what they were bred to be. :D
