The Lucky One

Post by Mapel Valley Kennels LLC. »

Well where do i begin? A few months back the chance to hit the lick came along only problem my hounds paid the price, luckly for me i got some friends in low places that were willing to pick up my Slack. My hounds are back where many good friends said they belong Little Pack.I truley believe in the Midwest but fill as though i been kinda shunned , Its so hard to kick ass and get a young dog to the winners pack to be picked up first, nothing personal but i felt sorta let down.So here we go back to my Eggs and Bacon so to say.
A super big tahnks goes to Ol Joe Murphy he followed Junie for quite some time and he entrusted my male to seal the Deal.I gotta be honest i have run Pine Mtn Dogs so long that i thought Sandmans Dreamcatcher was a 200-1 odds of hitting to say the least, but after spending many a day and night running my Jimbo dog which by the way was named by my daughter Emily has paid off in big dividends. After 3 hunts and the first 2 he was drawn in cast with no running and yesterday they had a chance to showcase there talents he showed he has the tools to bring it home.
The point being to all of you new as well as seasoned beaglers its sometimes the crosses that you shun that hit the lick,This particular litter has produced at least 3 rabbit Champions and 2 more on the way,not bad for 2.5 year old dogs.if only you could have heard Bobby Vest on the phone yesterday you could understand my seniments.Bobby is a great friend that has done his due,its been a while since he won and i Was truley estatic when he called.Bobby deserves anything he wins,Ol joe is in bad health nowdays and on oxygen he also truley loves his littles friends as much as anyone. Two great houndsmen reaping what has been sown.A big thanks to all my friends The Murphys , Bobby and David you guys believed in a ol Dog that was bred to run em down and his offspring are carrying the the banner for the ol man.Junie was truley a gift from the rabbit gods he has nothing to prove to anyone and has won everything we set out to win,Once again thanks to my little Junie Army we are small but powerful, kinda like The Little Train that could,See ya at the world.

It was a pleasure to handle Jimbo yesterday in the first round. My first time seeing him go and he looked great. Felt humbled on the way back to the clubhouse after the spanking Jimbo gave me. He is a nice hound that will only get better!

Not really bragging on nothing other than the fact i have some awfully good buddies, and a few culls.

 Jimmie, Some people go years without ever finishing a dog in AKC. You have had two very good ones. Not sure where the shunned comment came from. Your hound go what it deserved! I judge the hound not the handler. Look forward to seeing you soon Jimmie.
