A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Today I seen my first Tick !Has any one else seen any? Are is it just Richmond,Ky getting a early start. I use Python insecticide cattle ear tags to fight them seem to work well. Any other good thing that might work?
Took 3 off of me on Sunday here in Western PA. The snow just left a few days ago, a few days in the forties and they are back. Just put Frontline on the dogs again and its only the beginning of March!!!
Had a tick on on me, LI New York on sunday, I go to agway, and buy spot on for horses, costs $20.00, and one tube enough for upto 10 dogs, for 3 treatments, and any extra I mix with water and use as spray on dogs when I hunt. very econimical as $20.00 goes for 3 months, and i use the spray on my boots & clothes, it has an orange scent.
So what is it with all the ticks around nowdays ? Seems like ticks are way up in most parts of the US.
We still have plenty of snow on the ground so,I have not seen any so far.
TN Beaglers...their here!! went for a midday run, checked myself and dogs afterwards between 3 dogs found 7 ticks and 4 on me.I hate these things..as useless as a posssum
I just do what I do when its time to dig ginseng keep shirt tucked in,socks over my pant legs with chaps over them. That with some off usually does me fine.Had I known ticks were out this bad already i would have done it today
Eat a clove of pickled garlic or just garlic each day and in a week they will not bother you. Mosquitos either.
The pickled garlic doesn't make you smell like garlic except to varmits.
I have heard about the garlic thing since I was a young fella. I believe it, but, I can't find any pickled garlic. I do use garlic salt on just about everything I can.
