Lost my good male today (Murray's Beethovan)

Well my old hunting companion and one of my best friends past way today. I have had alot of fun and really enjoyed the old man. He just was a once in a lifetime dog for me not only from his pedigree but his actions as well. It will be very hard to replace him in my kennel not only for breeding but with the family as well. I really dont know who took it harder me or the girlfriend. He was the only dog she truelly loved but she could not even handle him. It was like he knew i dont have to listen to her but she still loved him and the pups he did through for me.He was a one owner type of dog who would of rather died running a rabbit then to think the rabbit got the best of him. He had all the heart in the world you couldnt get him to ever quit. To be honest i think he was just to dumb to ever give up. But that was one of the things that i will miss most about him and that bark. He had a big coon dog bark which i just loved to death. Now Beethovan wasnt a world beater but the through the hunt and will power into his pups. They were rabbit dogs thats all i can say. He will be missed deeply not only from my kennel but from family and friends. You just dont know the pain you go through until you lose one on the greats from your kennel. Im not one to ever show my feelings but let me tell you its hard to watch one of your greats die right in front of your eyes. Beethovan had lymphnode cancer which we had found about 2 weeks ago.When we found out I said I just cant put him down unless he was suffering and up to his death I dont think he did much. I said I wanted him to die doing what he loved to do and that was run a bunny.I did get to run Beethovan alittle this week just the two of us. I think that would of been what he wanted to do was chase another rabbit. So we did and to my suprise we did just that he wasnt the fastest dog i have ever owned but he was probably the cleanest never through a bad bark he barked cock the gun he was coming out. Beethovan died just before his 12th birthday and to be honest he had a lttle rough life he was hit by a car around 2 years of age then laid up. He never seemed to let it bother him.Well buddy maybe one day we can run bunnys again together we can only hope so. You will not only be missed by me but by the family also.I hope you are already running in heaven.

Not many left bred like him....its sad to read post like this, but for everyone we lose another yougster steps up. Hopefully you will see that in one of his pups!

Sorry Jason and Tayna.
Very sorry to hear the lost of just a super great dog. It won`t be the same when we go running anymore. I know how the 2 of you felt for him . We got to kill some rabbits over him and now his off spring will take over for him. I would not let Reble and Besty go anywhere. The two of them will maybe replace him. They need you now. I hope this don`t stop you from running. You and Tayna stay strong. I will help you 2 get though this. I have had alot of dogs to die in my life time.
