Kansas Hunting Trip

We headed out to Kansas last wed and hunted till saturday at noon.If you have never been i suggest taking a trip out west.Had plenty of rabbits and the hounds had non stop running for the most part.http://s1127.photobucket.com/albums/l629/davisbeagles/

What part of KS did you go? What kind of terrain did you find the rabbits in?

Hey Matt we went to the south east part of kansas .We hunted mine land and some walk ins.Most of the rabbits were in the crp and some were in briars when you found some . later Dale

My in-laws live in Pittsburg in the southeast corner and they used to be big bird hunters. They always got ticked at me when we went bird hunting as I got into the rabbits way more than the birds. Haven't hunted down there for several years but it always appeared to be the same type terrain as we have here in the southern Indiana strip mine areas and plenty of rabbits back then too.

Dale what was it like running in that crp? Did the rabbits run big for you? Looks like you really got into them!

Yeah the runs were almost out of hearing on some .The dogs caught three rabbits and i felt like i was in indiana strip mines but without all the briars.Going back in oct later Dale

It cost 72 dollars and wardog we jumped all kinds of quail but no phesants .We stayed in pittsburg.Nobody could believe we were rabbit hunting and the armadillos were everywhere tried to catch some but they are just to fast . the dogs would jump on there backs they had never seen one it was the funniest thing to watch . Going back in oct later Dale
