Re: seizures
I know a few dogs who have had seizures, no beagles thoug. I'm pretty sure it can be controlled somewhat by meds, but I knew of one family who have a labadoo who has seizures. They took their dog to the vet but the vet told them medicine wouldn't help that much,so the dog just lives with seizures every so often. In my opinion seizures aren't all that bad if they only happen pnce in a while like once a week or month, but if the dog is having them all the time it tends to mess up their mind. My uncle just put down a german sheperd with seizures.
I would definitely take the dog to the vet and go from there.

Re: seizures
Take it to the vet. I had a cocker spaniel that started having seizures when he was about 6 years old. I gave him phenobarbital every day for the last 6 or 7 years of his life. He never had another one again and lived to be about 13 years old.

I've got a buddy that owned a dog who started having seizures. Sometimes they were bad and it looked like the dog wouldn't make sometimes. Turned out the dog was diabetic. He would carry a honey bun with him and would give it to the dog and it would bring him right out of it. True story.

I had a buddy that did this same thing but he wouldn't wait until his dog had a seizure to give it a piece of the honey bun. About every hour or so while he was hunting he would call his dog to him and give him a piece of honey bun and he didn't have any more seizures while hunting.banjerpkr wrote:I've got a buddy that owned a dog who started having seizures.
